My Approach to Therapy
I am a Licensed Psychologist specializing in trauma therapy and posttraumatic stress (PTSD) therapy, offering online therapy statewide in North Carolina. Here, you’ll be seen, heard, and supported as we uncover the patterns that no longer serve you and create meaningful change.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure where to begin, you’re in the right place. I provide personalized trauma therapy and posttraumatic stress recovery treatment virtually across North Carolina that honors your lived experience and meets you exactly where you are, as well as a space for healing, growth and emotional wellness whether you’re:
- Carrying the weight of past trauma or posttraumatic stress (PTSD) that still impacts your day-to-day life
- Feeling drained by burnout or chronic stress, like you’re running on empty
- Struggling with anxiety or depression that makes even small tasks feel heavy and seeking anxiety counseling
- Navigating a major life transition such as a breakup or divorce, career change, relocation, or identity shift where you are feeling unsteady and need support
- Grieving a loss or coping with traumatic grief that feels impossible to put into words, finding support through grief therapy
- Wanting a supportive space to explore women’s issues, including boundaries, identity, self-worth, or empowerment
- Looking for LGBTQIA+ affirming care where all parts of who you are are fully respected and welcomed
Your healing deserves a space that feels safe, steady and thoughtfully tailored to you. I will walk alongside you as a trusted guide, helping you make sense of what’s happened, reconnect with your strengths and move forward at a pace that feels right for you.
My 90-minute extended therapy sessions and specialized Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) intensives for trauma and posttraumatic stress are thoughtfully designed and uncommon in most practices. They give the necessary space for trauma work that truly moves you forward. This intentionally curated approach allows for the time and depth required to process experiences fully without feeling rushed or fragmented. It helps address what’s holding you back and keeping you stuck and build resilience for sustained growth in a way that fits your life and your goals.
Our work goes beyond simply talking through what’s happened. It is structured, focused and designed to create real change. Together, we focus on understanding how your experiences continue to shape your thoughts, emotions and patterns and intentionally work to shift them. This creates space for both insight and meaningful resolution and allows you to move forward with greater clarity, stability, and a stronger sense of control.
Please feel free to contact me via phone or email, complete the inquiry submission form on my website, or schedule your free 15-minute consultation call through my online scheduler to get started.
I look forward to partnering with you on this transformative and healing journey you are more than worthy of!
My Practice & Services
My practice is fully virtual, serving adult clients across the state of North Carolina. I am also considered an "out-of-network" provider and do not accept insurance.
Services and Pricing:
Intake Session- $350:
I exclusively provide a 90-minute intake experience rather than the traditional 50-minute model, as trauma work requires trust, nuance, and adequate space to explore the complexities of traumatic events and the impacts you experience.
This extended format allows us to move beyond surface details and begin understanding the patterns, protective strategies, and nervous system responses that have shaped your life. Instead of rushing through gathering your history in a shallow or fragmented way, we can thoughtfully map your experiences, clarify your goals, and begin identifying a clear, individualized, and comprehensive treatment plan from the very beginning.
If you’re looking for trauma therapy in North Carolina that prioritizes depth, precision, and sustainable results, a 90-minute intake creates the intentional foundation your therapeutic work deserves.
Individual Extended Psychotherapy Sessions- $350:
If you’ve experienced trauma, you know how difficult it can be to feel safe, settle in, and begin to open up, especially on a time limit. Traditional therapy sessions often feel like they end just as you’re starting to get somewhere, with a constant feeling of racing against the clock.
My 90-minute extended sessions offer a slower, more spacious experience that allows you to stay present with what matters and without feeling pressured by the clock. Sessions can close with additional care and intention for you to feel grounded and steady, rather than activated due to time being cut short.
You deserve therapy that meets you where you are, not therapy that rushes you through. This larger container within our therapy sessions give you time to breathe, time to listen to your body, and time to fulfill the deeper layers of your healing process.
If you’re ready to start trauma or PTSD treatment in North Carolina in a space that is safe, deliberate, and deeply supportive, extended 90-minute sessions provide the intentional foundation your story requires.
Cognitive Processing Therapy Intensives: Accelerated 14-Session Trauma Recovery Packages- $5,900-$8,500:
TRAUMA THERAPY, REIMAGINED.
My Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) Intensives offer a different way to engage in trauma treatment. Rather than stretching the therapeutic work over significant periods of time, this model provides a structured, time-bound experience where sessions occur multiple times per week, allowing for continuity, depth, and sustained momentum that promotes trauma recovery in weeks, not months or years.
CPT is a gold-standard, evidence-based treatment for PTSD that focuses on identifying and restructuring the beliefs trauma leaves behind. In an intensive format, this work becomes more focused and efficient by reducing the start-and-stop pattern of traditional weekly therapy and allowing cognitive shifts and symptom improvement to build at an accelerated rate.
To preserve the quality and containment of this work, I limit intensives to one to two clients per month. This allows for priority scheduling, reduced wait times, and a level of clinical presence that supports deeper engagement throughout the process.
A STRUCTURED, START-TO-FINISH TREATMENT EXPERIENCE
Each intensive is a fully inclusive package that comprises a comprehensive 90-minute intake assessment, the complete CPT protocol delivered across twelve extended sessions, and a dedicated integration session two weeks after completion. Every phase is intentional, ensuring the work is both thorough and sustainable. The clinical model remains consistent across all package options, giving you the flexibility to determine the pace at which you move through the intensive.
CHOOSE YOUR LEVEL OF ENGAGEMENT
CPT Intensive packages are offered at different levels of weekly frequency, allowing you to select the pacing that aligns with your schedule, capacity, and readiness to engage the work. Whether you prefer a more measured approach or a fully immersive experience, CPT Intensives are offered with flexible scheduling options, allowing the work to be thoughtfully integrated into your life while maintaining clinical momentum. Together, we determine a cadence that supports both consistency and depth, ensuring the process remains focused, contained, and effective.
A THOUGHTFUL FIT FOR
CPT Intensives are best suited for individuals who are motivated, insight-oriented, and ready to actively engage in and committed to structured trauma work. This model is ideal if you feel stuck in weekly therapy, are seeking a more efficient path forward, or prefer a defined treatment experience with clear direction and measurable progress within a shorter window of time.
If you are ready for a more focused approach, we can determine together whether an intensive is the right fit. We will assess your goals, readiness, and availability to determine the pacing that best supports you.
My Role as a Therapist
Working with me is like having coffee with an old friend. A friend that you have cultivated a strong and trusting relationship with over time. Someone who you know will be honest with you and has your best interests at heart. A friend who cares about your well-being and empowers you to do the things you love. Someone who you can let your guard down with. A friend who supports your agency and power of choice without fear of judgement. Someone who you feel connected to and can be vulnerable with, despite how hard it can be sometimes. The only difference between me and your most cherished friend is that I have extensive education, training, and clinical experience to effectively provide proven methods to reduce the impact of your trauma and foster recovery that is rooted in what works.
I understand that trauma is complex, and I believe that each person?s path to healing is unique where no two experiences of trauma are the same. I tailor my approach to therapy to meet your specific needs through collaboration, as you are the expert of your own experiences. Together, we will set goals that feel right for you. I will never push you to move faster than what you?re ready for, but I will guide and encourage you when you're ready to take steps forward. You are in control of your healing process, and I?m here to support your growth every step of the way.
My Guiding Ethical Principles
At the heart of my practice is the belief that you are not what happened to you. It?s your innate qualities like resiliency, courage, and strength that define you and will lead to healing and sustained recovery.
Safety First:
I prioritize creating a physically, emotionally, and psychologically safe space where you can explore your experiences without judgment.
Empowerment Through Choice:
I believe in giving you control over your healing process. We work together to create a plan that respects your pace, needs, and preferences.
Trust & Transparency:
I build trust through clear communication, transparency in treatment, and a commitment to earning your trust through consistent, compassionate care.
Holistic Healing:
I view healing as a deeply holistic process. One that honors the full complexity of who you are, not just the symptoms you?re experiencing. Rather than focusing narrowly on a diagnosis or a single aspect of your life, I approach therapy by considering the interconnected layers of your thoughts, emotions, physical responses, relationships, identity, and lived experiences.
I integrate evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and mindfulness to support both insight and regulation. This whole-person approach allows for deeper, more meaningful change, and helps you reconnect with yourself, build resilience, and foster lasting post-traumatic growth.
Strength-Based Approach:
I recognize your inherent strengths and resilience. I aim to help you rediscover your inner resources and use them as tools for recovery.
Cultural Sensitivity & Inclusivity:
I honor the diverse backgrounds, identities, and experiences of my clients. My practice is inclusive, culturally sensitive, and trauma-informed, ensuring that all feel respected and supported.
Collaborative Care:
Healing is a journey we embark on together. I see therapy as a partnership where your voice is central in shaping the process and guiding our path.
Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance
At Carolina Trauma Recovery, I believe that healing from trauma is not just possible, but empowering. The strongest people I have ever met have been, undoubtedly, the survivors of trauma I have had the pleasure to work with over my career. My approach is rooted in empathy, respect, and collaboration, ensuring that every client feels heard, valued, and safe. I understand that trauma impacts my client's in unique ways, and I honor the complexity and intersectionality of each of their lived experiences.
I aim to provide a warm environment and foster authentic therapeutic relationships within each session. Fostering a supportive, collaborative, and genuine connection with each of my clients is one of my major focal points during treatment.
Research indicates that establishing a strong therapeutic alliance is the most important factor in successful outcomes in therapy independent of the specific type of treatment. My ultimate goal for the end of every session is to have each client feel safe, understood, and cared for; creating the best environment for the trajectory of our work together.
To me, the trust and rapport-building process is essential when clients are seeking help with vulnerable and emotionally difficult concerns that take a lot of courage to discuss. The majority of my clients have expressed that I am typically the first person they have shared their story with due to feelings of shame, guilt, or self-blame (these are normal trauma responses that we will work on improving). I understand how challenging it is to open up about what has happened to you, as everything in your mind and body is screaming to keep it hidden and bury it deep. This is why I take cultivating our therapeutic relationship so seriously, and wear client?s trust in me as a badge of honor.
