What's My Approach to Therapy?

Healing happens through connection. Everyone deserves a space where they know they will be seen, heard, and valued. Cierra Denton believes the therapeutic relationship serves as a space to form real, genuine human connection that allows us to grow and develop further understanding of whatever life throws at us. The relationship we build plays a huge role in how we navigate the journey beyond healing. Cierra strives to create a space that feels not just safe, but collaborative and – yes – human.

Change doesn’t happen in isolation. It happens when we show up with curiosity, compassion, and the occasional reminder that no one is alone in this messy, beautiful, human experience. At Foundations Counseling, Cierra Denton works with a wide variety of clients who may be seeking services that include:

· Adolescents and Teens – adolescent development, cuttingself-injury, self-esteem and self-worth issues, anxiety, school and family issues, social and relationship problems

· Life Transitions – spirituality, empty-nest syndrome, geographical transition, job transition, gender transitions, gender role issues

· Relationship Dynamics – conflict resolution, intimacy concerns, alternative relationships, attachment issues, LGBTQ+ identities

Cierra Denton has a Master of Arts Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of Arkansas, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology with a minor in French. Cierra utilizes techniques from Relational-Cultural Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy.

Cierra Denton has been dedicated to helping others for years, beginning with wellness coaching at The University of Arkansas while completing her master’s degree. During this time, she also started building her counseling background, working with diverse populations including college students, parents, recent graduates, the LGBTQ+ community, adolescents, and teens. This rich experience highlighted Cierra's passion for forming deep connections with people, united by shared experiences – whether that’s bonding over the complexities of life, the love of nature, or dissecting the work of lyrical geniuses. As Taylor Swift once said, "You are what you love." For Cierra, this means embracing the diverse, sometimes messy, but always meaningful aspects of the human experience. It's this understanding and compassion that she brings into every session, helping clients explore their journeys with empathy, curiosity, and a little bit of humor along the way.
