My Approach to Therapy

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Licensed Addiction Counselor Candidate working with children, teens, adults, and families navigating anxiety, trauma, substance use, and family conflict. My background in Child Protective Services, and across inpatient, partial hospitalization program (PHP), intensive outpatient program (IOP), and outpatient settings, strengthens my ability to assess risk, guide level-of-care decisions, and support families through high-stress transitions. My approach is warm, collaborative, and systems-focused. I integrate dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and family systems therapy to help build emotional regulation, practical coping tools, and healthier communication. Certified in DC:0–5, I also bring a strong developmental lens to early childhood and parenting work. Clients benefit from individualized, strengths-based care that fosters resilience, clarity, and lasting connection.

My Practice & Services

Dandelions represent resilience. They are the first flowers to bloom every spring, offering an example of strength and vitality after long, brutal winters. At Dandelion Mental Health Services, we understand how difficult and lonely our paths can be. We show up with our clients in these moments to support their mental health and empower them as they find the bloom of spring. Our goal is to help every client find the strength to persevere through life’s struggles and find peace, build stronger relationships, develop positive mental health strategies, and grow into resilience and strength. Dandelions may appear similar, but each is unique. We treat everyone with respect for their background, successes, challenges, and perspective. We accept all beliefs and cultural backgrounds, and we focus our time together on your specific situation. We understand that everyone has a unique set of circumstances, and we welcome everyone.

Groups I Work With

I work with children, adolescents, young adults, and adults, as well as entire family systems. My practice supports individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional regulation challenges, and identity concerns. I also specialize in working with adolescents and families impacted by substance use, including support with recovery, relapse prevention, and rebuilding trust within relationships. A significant part of my work involves parents and caregivers experiencing parenting stress, co-parenting challenges, guilt, and family transitions, including blended, adoptive, and foster families. I also support individuals and families dealing with school stress, self-harm behaviors, and major life transitions. Across all populations, my focus is on strengthening emotional connection, improving communication, and helping people feel more grounded and supported in their relationships and daily lives.
