Seeking help is a courageous yet highly practical decision. I commend anyone who is serious about seeking understanding, clarity, healing, change and growth. Finding the right therapist is a highly individual choice. I am grateful you took the time to review my profile.
In my experience, there are many reasons why people decide to begin therapy, counseling or coaching. It may be to address fairly common problems like anxiety or depression. Other times I find it's about learning more effective means of managing emotions brought on by stressful experiences or life transitions. Or the reason may be about improving dysfunctional, conflicted marriage, family or workplace relationships. Still, others seek me out as a guide for self-exploration, general growth and dealing with the 'givens' in life.
Regardless of your reason for seeking a therapeutic relationship, working with me can provide the insight, support and strategic focus you need to meet - and overcome - many of life's challenges. I combine my past experience as a results-oriented business executive with my education and training as a compassionate, caring, wise therapist to help my clients get to the root of their problems, deal more effectively with today's challenges and move towards the full life and future they envision. I believe that each of has the capacity to grow and change and that we are not powerless to change the path of our lives.
If you or someone you know is looking for a trustworthy, discerning therapist who can blend clinical excellence with extensive life experience in family, community, academic and business settings, please give me a call. It would be my pleasure to learn more about your situation and explain how I can be of help.
My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy
My work is highly collaborative, individualized and centered around the needs and goals of the client. I have great respect for the people I work with, especially for their strengths, their resiliency, and in their ability to cope with the challenges and the 'givens' of life. Yet I believe in their ability to set a new course in their life, that they have unique strengths along with the power to effect change and move towards actualizing their unique potential in life, love and work. I am hopeful when it comes to change and growth but know both personally and professionally that it is not an easy or quick process. Old habits and ways of being die hard. Part of my job is to hold clients responsible for their life satisfaction, stop blaming others, and learn to define their own journey of recovery, change and growth, one that encompasses the whole of life, mind, body, spirit, community.
