My Approach to Helping
I believe that therapy can be an opportunity to create the life that you want for yourself. My goal is to help you move from surviving life to truly experiencing a life that feels meaningful, balanced, and whole. When people experience stress and trauma, it affects them mentally, physically, and spiritually. Therefore, I believe for treatment to be effective, all parts of a person must be considered. As part of the therapeutic process, I can provide coaching on alternative methods of mood management, including dietary and lifestyle changes that can positively impact mood. I am also trained as a faith-based yoga teacher, which allows me to approach treatment from an integrative perspective of healing. I see my role in your process as being a guide to wholeness. I often find that people have the solutions to their problems within them, they just require some assistance in exploring and being able to connect to the solutions within themselves.

How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist
From a very young age, I have been a "natural worrier". As life got busier and stress levels increased, I began my own personal journey to figure out how I could create balance and "quiet my mind". I began researching and exploring the benefits of integrating exercise (including yoga), spiritual practices, nutrition and lifestyle changes that helped me learn how to find balance and experience peace. Now I am now able to provide coaching and psychoeducation on these areas for the people I work with in my practice. Out of my own experiences, I have come to believe that the best approach for mental health is to address physical, emotional, and spiritual well being.
