My Approach to Helping
If you are experiencing challenges such as anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or other concerns, I believe you deserve to find relief and enjoy a more fulfilling life. Therapy has helped many people acquire the skills, tools, and professional guidance to make lasting positive changes. However, you need to take the first step towards better health.
As a therapist who is trained in systems theory, I believe relationships play an integral role in human thinking and behavior. My therapeutic approach involves exploring the primary relationships in a person's life, and determining how they influence the adverse issues which initially brought the person to treatment. I also believe that a trusting, supportive bond between the therapist and the individual in treatment is essential to effective therapy. Consequently, I provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where people may freely express their feelings, and collaborate with me to form a strong therapeutic relationship.
I offer mental health services to families, couples, and individuals who are affected by a range of behavioral, emotional, and relational issues. Specific concerns which may be addressed in treatment include infidelity, grief and loss, low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, stress, feelings of isolation, loneliness, major life transitions, and alternative lifestyles issues (for example, polyamorous or open relationships, kink, and BDSM). Having studied various spiritual paths, I am also uniquely qualified to help people access their inner strength and grow in wisdom.
