My Approach to Therapy

If you’ve found your way here, you’re likely exhausted. Maybe you’re navigating the "newness" of parenthood and feeling like a stranger in your own body. Perhaps a traumatic birth, the heavy fog of postpartum depression, or the constant hum of "what-if" anxiety has made it hard to feel like the person you used to be. You’re probably tired of being told to "just enjoy every moment" when, in reality, you feel like you’re just trying to keep your head above water. I want you to know that you don’t have to perform "wellness" with me. In our sessions, you can show up exactly as you are—tired, overwhelmed, or even a little bit skeptical. I’m not a therapist who just sits back and nods silently; I’m a real person who shows up with you. My style is warm and down-to-earth, and I’m here to be a partner in your healing, not just a clinical observer. What Working Together Looks Like We won't just talk in circles about how you feel. We’re going to look at the whole picture: how your body is feeling, how you’re sleeping, and how your past experiences might be showing up in your present life. Because traditional talk therapy can sometimes feel like it only scratches the surface, I often use a specialized approach called EMDR. Think of it as a way to help your brain "file away" difficult or traumatic memories that feel like they’re still stuck in the "active" folder. It’s a gentle but powerful way to take the sting out of a scary birth experience or a painful past, helping your nervous system finally feel like it’s safe to relax. Whether you are trying to conceive, navigating the postpartum "trenches," or trying to heal from a trauma you’ve carried for years, my goal is to help you find your footing again. You deserve to feel like yourself—not just a version of yourself that is "getting by," but one that feels whole, capable, and at peace.

My Practice & Services

As a solo practitioner, I offer a highly personalized experience that starts the moment you reach out. You won’t be navigating a large clinic or a rotating staff; you will be working directly with me. This allows us to build a deep, consistent therapeutic relationship where your story is known and held with care. My practice is grounded in the understanding that the mind and body are not separate. Because I specialize in the "Biopsychosocial" side of health—looking at how your physical health and your mental well-being impact one another—our sessions often go beyond traditional talk therapy. Whether we are utilizing EMDR to process a difficult medical event or birth trauma, or simply exploring how stress is showing up in your body, we work to heal the whole system. A Space for "The Helpers": I frequently work with fellow healthcare providers, educators, and "the caregivers" of our community who need a confidential, expert space to process their own secondary trauma and burnout.

Groups I Work With

I specialize in working with individuals navigating the complex intersections of physical health, trauma, and the transition into parenthood. My practice is a dedicated space for: Mothers and Birthing People: Supporting you through the "perinatal" period—from the challenges of trying to conceive and infertility to the intensity of pregnancy and the postpartum first years. Survivors of Birth Trauma: Helping those who have had a frightening or unexpected birth experience process the "stuck" memories and find safety in their bodies again. Individuals Facing Reproductive Loss: Providing a compassionate space for those navigating the unique grief of miscarriage, stillbirth, or medical interruptions. People Living with Chronic Illness or New Diagnoses: Working with those managing the emotional and mental toll of chronic health conditions (such as PCOS, autoimmune issues, or recovery from major surgery). Trauma Survivors: Using specialized tools like EMDR for adults who are ready to move past old patterns, hyper-vigilance, or childhood wounds that are impacting their current lives. Helping Professionals and Educators: Supporting those who spend their days caring for others (nurses, teachers, fellow therapists) and need a space where they can finally be the ones who are heard. Anyone feeling stuck in past experiences who has tried traditional therapy and is now looking for a new way of processing their history, using EMDR.
