My Approach to Therapy

I’m Brianne, and I offer virtual counselling for adults navigating addiction, grief, trauma, and mental health challenges. My work is rooted in creating a space that feels safe, steady, and non-judgmental. A place where you can slow down, breathe, and begin to make sense of what’s been weighing on you. In our work together, I’ll invite you to explore your emotions at your own pace, while we build practical coping strategies and resilience for everyday life. I take a holistic approach, gently honouring both mind and body, because healing doesn’t happen in just one place. With compassion and curiosity, we’ll look beneath the surface to better understand patterns, pain, and strengths, always with the goal of meaningful, lasting change. You don’t have to have the answers before you start; we’ll figure things out together. I’m a Master Practitioner in Clinical Counselling (Provisional), a Certified Canadian Addiction Counsellor, and a Clinical Trauma Professional. I work primarily with individuals impacted by substance use, trauma, grief, and emotional overwhelm. I draw from evidence-based approaches and tailor our work to you, your experiences, your goals, and what feels most supportive right now. I believe healing is a process of self-discovery, patience, and learning to meet yourself with compassion. It can feel uncomfortable at times, but growth often begins when we feel safe enough to be honest. You don’t have to do this alone. If you’re ready to take the next step, or even just curious about starting, I’d be honoured to walk alongside you.

My Practice & Services

At my practice, I offer more than one-on-one counselling. I create spaces for learning, connection, and growth through groups, workshops, and seminars. Whether it’s a skills-based session on coping with stress, burnout, or addiction triggers, or a reflective group exploring grief, trauma, or life transitions, these experiences are designed to help you feel supported, understood, and less alone. Each session is guided with compassion and practical tools you can apply in your everyday life, so healing and personal growth continue outside of counselling. I also share insights and support through podcasts and blogs, where I talk about topics like addiction, mental health, women’s health, and navigating life’s pressures. These resources are meant to spark reflection, provide strategies, and normalize the ups and downs of life. My goal is to offer multiple ways for you to connect with guidance, community, and ideas. Whether you’re exploring therapy for the first time, deepening your journey, or simply looking for thoughtful support and inspiration along the way.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

Choosing to come to therapy doesn?t mean something is ?wrong? with you, and it doesn?t mean you?re weak or flawed. It takes courage to look at your life, your emotions, and your patterns, and to take steps toward understanding and growth. Seeking support is a sign of strength, a commitment to yourself and your well-being . It's not a reflection of failure. Everyone carries challenges, and sometimes we all need guidance, perspective, or simply a safe space to be heard. In therapy, you have the opportunity to explore your experiences without judgment, to make sense of what?s been difficult, and to learn tools that help you navigate life with more clarity, balance, and resilience. Healing is not about ?fixing? something broken; it?s about connecting with yourself, understanding your needs, and discovering ways to thrive even amidst life?s challenges. Coming to therapy is an act of self-respect, and it?s a step toward a more compassionate, empowered relationship with yourself.

Groups I Work With

I work with adults navigating substance use, trauma, grief, mental health challenges, and the pressures of daily life. Many of the people I support are experiencing work stress, burnout, or compassion fatigue, particularly those in caring or high-demand roles. I also specialize in supporting women through life transitions, hormonal and reproductive health challenges, and the unique pressures that can impact emotional well-being. Together, we’ll explore what’s beneath the surface at a pace that feels safe and collaborative, while building insight and practical coping strategies to help you feel steadier and more resilient. I also support individuals dealing with loss, emotional exhaustion, anxiety, depression, and patterns that no longer serve them. Some clients come to therapy seeking growth, self-understanding, and healing rather than a specific diagnosis. Whether you’re navigating professional pressures, personal challenges, or simply wanting to reconnect with yourself, I offer a compassionate, trauma-informed space where you don’t have to do it alone.
