My Approach to Therapy
Lake Norman’s premier mental health therapist for life transitions, anxiety, couples, and teens.
If you have spent months talking about how you think and feel but still find yourself stuck in the same patterns, you may need a different approach.
For more than 19 years, I have helped people work through anxiety, overthinking, people-pleasing, codependency, relationship conflict, identity struggles, and major life transitions. My approach is active, practical, and focused on creating meaningful change—not simply understanding why you feel stuck.
Together, we identify the fears, internal conflicts, and learned patterns that may be keeping you from trusting yourself, setting boundaries, communicating honestly, or moving toward the life you want. I help you strengthen the part of yourself that can face difficult emotions, stand its ground, and take action with greater confidence.
My work combines traditional psychotherapy with experiential and action-focused methods. Depending on your needs, therapy may include structured assessments, visual exercises, guided reflection, breathing practices, and opportunities to practice responding differently in real time.
I work especially well with adults navigating life transitions, people struggling with anxiety, couples experiencing relationship difficulties, and teens who feel stuck or uncertain about themselves. You may understand the problem intellectually but still struggle to change the pattern. My goal is to help you identify what is holding you back, determine where to focus, and take practical steps toward healthier relationships and a more authentic, courageous, and fulfilling life.
