What's My Approach to Therapy?

Athanasia is a licensed mental health counselor in New York. She completed her undergraduate degree at Miami University of Ohio and earned her master’s in mental health counseling from Columbia University, Teachers College. Having extensive experience supporting adults and students in both private and public mental health settings, Athanasia brings a rich and diverse perspective to her work.

With a warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental approach, Athanasia helps clients navigate challenges related to anxiety, depression, life transitions, self-esteem, identity, and interpersonal relationships. She blends psychodynamic and relational practices with dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) and mindfulness techniques, creating a safe space for exploration and growth. To her, counseling is a delicate and committed process that involves honoring each client’s experience and working together to expand self-awareness and connection.
