My Approach to Therapy
I know choosing a therapist can feel overwhelming, especially when you feel like you're supposed to have it all "together". A lot of times, we are balancing the responsibilities of being a student, parent, professional, or just a functioning human, and we feel the pressure of life transitions and challenges. This can cause feelings of being stuck, stressed, or unsure of what's next. If you are someone this hits home with and you want to work on feeling more confident, clear-headed, and in control, I'd love to work with you.
My approach is intentional and and collaborative. I work with you to create practical goals to manage stress, improve balance, and move forward with purpose rather than feeling like you are just getting through each day. In our work together, I aim to both support and challenge you, helping to build insight, develop healthier coping strategies, and take meaningful steps toward the goals and life you want to create. My approach is supportive, practical, and goal-oriented, helping clients gain insight while also developing strategies they can use in their everyday lives. I draw from solution-focused, strengths-based, and cognitive behavioral approaches, but more importantly, I focus on what actually works in your real, everyday life.
Building a strong therapeutic relationship is a central part of my work. I focus on listening closely and taking time to truly understand each client’s experiences, values, and goals. I strive to create a space where clients feel comfortable being themselves. I also bring warmth, authenticity, and an appropriate sense of humor into sessions, which can help ease tension and build genuine connection. If you feel like we would connect and you're ready to take the next step, please reach out now so we can get started.
