My Approach to Therapy
My ideal client often feels deeply stuck, trapped in a heavy fog of anxiety, depression, low self-worth, or that quiet sense of being “not enough.” You might feel inferior, exhausted from carrying invisible wounds, and convinced there’s no real way out. You’ve likely tried therapy, medication, or self-help before, only to get temporary relief that fades, leaving you even more discouraged. You’re ready for something deeper: a genuine, compassionate space where you can finally be fully seen and understood without judgment.
I specialize in helping people navigate depression, anxiety, addiction, and the painful feeling of being trapped in their own lives. Using a holistic, personalized approach informed by both professional training and my own life experiences (including being an apprentice for almost a century with Curanderos in the Amazon jungle), I create a safe environment for real healing, not just symptom management.
Together, we’ll gently explore the old wounds that keep you feeling small or powerless, while reconnecting you with your inner strength and resilience. My goal is to help you move from surviving to truly feeling whole again, so you can rediscover purpose, experience real joy, and face life with a quiet confidence you may have forgotten was possible.
You don’t have to keep carrying this alone. Healing is possible, even when it feels impossible right now. If this resonates with you, I’d be honored to walk beside you on the journey toward freedom and a brighter, more fulfilling future.
I also have extensive experience working with couples, and I help partners navigate many of the most common challenges couples face, including communication breakdowns, recurring conflicts, emotional disconnection, trust issues, and rebuilding intimacy. Whether you’re coming in individually or as a couple, I provide a supportive space for meaningful change.
My Practice & Services
My journey into mental health and holistic healing began in my early years, shaped by personal experiences with emotional challenges and a deep curiosity about the mind-body connection. Growing up, I witnessed how resilience and self-discovery could transform lives, and this inspired me to dedicate my life to helping others navigate their struggles and uncover their inner strength.
As a U.S. military veteran, my time in service profoundly shaped my understanding of resilience, discipline, and the complexities of mental health. Through the challenges that come with high-pressure environments, life transitions, and emotional hardships, I developed a deep commitment to supporting others, especially those struggling with anxiety, posttraumatic stress (PTSD), and the emotional toll of trauma. My own experiences reinforced my belief that healing is possible, even in the face of deep pain, and that no one should have to walk that path alone.
This passion led me to pursue advanced education, earning a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy and Personalized Cognitive Counseling. But my path didn’t end there. Feeling called to expand my understanding beyond conventional approaches, I spent nearly a decade in the Amazonian jungles of Colombia, where I had the privilege of studying holistic healing practices with the Siona Tribe and apprenticing under skilled curanderos. Those years were transformative, teaching me the profound interconnectedness of mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
In my practice, I integrate evidence-based therapeutic techniques such as acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) with the wisdom I’ve gained from holistic and Indigenous healing traditions. ACT allows me to help clients develop mindfulness, accept life’s challenges, and align their actions with their core values. Together with breathwork, mindfulness, and traditional healing approaches, I offer a comprehensive path to healing that honors the whole person, mind, body, and spirit.
I am deeply committed to creating a safe, compassionate space where my clients feel seen, heard, and empowered. Having walked through my own struggles with depression, anxiety, and addiction, I understand what it feels like to face life’s darkest moments. This lived experience fuels my dedication to helping others transform pain into growth, cultivate resilience, and rediscover purpose and joy.
I believe we all have an innate capacity for healing, and my mission is to guide you on your unique journey toward wholeness and fulfillment.
What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
What I love most about being a therapist is witnessing the moment when someone who felt completely stuck, broken, or ?not enough? begins to feel hope again. There?s nothing more meaningful than sitting with a person in their darkest, most painful moments ? when anxiety feels overwhelming, depression has taken their light, or they?re carrying deep shame and low self-worth, and helping them discover that they are not alone and that healing is truly possible.
I love watching the gradual transformation: when clients start speaking to themselves with more compassion, reconnect with their inner strength, and slowly reclaim their life with a sense of purpose and joy they thought was lost forever. Those ?light bulb? moments ? when old wounds lose their power, and they realize they can face life with resilience.
I?m also deeply grateful for the privilege of helping couples rebuild connection, improve communication, and heal together. Seeing partners move from conflict and disconnection back into understanding and intimacy is incredibly rewarding.
