My Approach to Therapy

You look like you're functioning, managing your responsibilities, showing up for the people who depend on you. But internally, it can feel heavy, unstable, or quietly shut down. Maybe it's anxiety that won't settle, or a restlessness that makes it hard to feel present. Maybe it's the opposite: things go flat, distant, numb. You're thoughtful and self-aware enough to notice you keep repeating the same emotional and relational patterns, even when you don't want to. I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) working with adults through anxiety, depression, self-doubt, and the relationship patterns that keep people stuck. I offer a space where you don't have to perform "okay," where we can slow things down and actually understand what's underneath instead of just managing symptoms. My approach is depth-oriented and relational. We look at where these patterns come from, often early attachment or family-of-origin dynamics, so the shifts you make in session actually hold outside of it. I offer individual telehealth therapy across New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Oregon, and Florida. If you're tired of white-knuckling your way through anxiety, overwhelm, or the same relationship patterns on repeat, I'd love to talk. Reach out to schedule a consultation, and see if we're a good fit.

My Practice & Services

I work with adults and couples who want more than short-term symptom relief. Therapy is a space to understand the deeper emotional and relational patterns shaping how you feel, connect, and move through your life, and to create changes that last. My style is warm, engaged, and collaborative. I tailor treatment to the person in front of me rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, drawing from relational, attachment-based, psychodynamic, and evidence-based approaches. I provide therapy to clients in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Oregon, and Florida. Private-pay sessions are $200 for 50 minutes, and out-of-network documentation is available upon request. I offer a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation so we can briefly discuss what brings you to therapy, what you’re looking for, and whether working together feels like a good fit.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I work especially well with people who appear capable and high-functioning on the outside but feel anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck internally. You may understand yourself well and still find yourself repeating the same patterns—in relationships, in how you respond to stress, or in the way you think and feel about yourself. I frequently help clients with anxiety, depression, self-doubt, relationship and attachment patterns, family-of-origin issues, life transitions, emotional overwhelm, and feeling numb or disconnected. Our work goes beyond simply managing symptoms. Together, we become curious about what is driving them, where longstanding patterns developed, and what needs to shift for change to feel deeper and more lasting.

My Role as a Therapist

I don’t see therapy as a place where you talk for an hour while I simply listen. My role is active, engaged, and collaborative. I’ll listen closely, ask thoughtful questions, notice patterns, and help you make connections that may be difficult to see from inside your own experience. At times, that means slowing down and making space for emotions you’ve learned to move past quickly. At other times, it means gently challenging a familiar story, reaction, or relationship pattern that may no longer be serving you. I want you to feel deeply understood, but I also want our work to help you move somewhere new. Therapy is tailored to you. We work at a pace that feels manageable while still being willing to look beneath the surface when that’s where meaningful change needs to happen.

Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance

The relationship you have with your therapist matters. You can find someone with the right credentials and approach on paper, but therapy works differently when you also feel understood, comfortable being honest, and able to trust the person sitting across from you. I want our relationship to be a place where you don’t have to perform, edit yourself, or arrive with the “right” thing to talk about. You should be able to bring in the complicated, contradictory, uncomfortable parts too. I also believe fit goes both ways. That’s why I offer a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation before getting started. It’s an opportunity for us to talk briefly about what you’re looking for, for you to get a sense of me and my style, and to decide whether working together feels like a good fit.
