What's My Approach to Therapy?
Hi! I’m Angie Zara, a trauma-focused therapist with a master’s degree in forensic psychology. I work with adults from diverse backgrounds as they navigate various challenges such as trauma and dissociation, substance use, relationship issues, anxiety, depression, and grief. My goal is to create a warm, supportive space where clients feel genuinely seen and heard. I take a strengths-based, collaborative approach to therapy—helping individuals tap into their inner resources, build self-esteem, and move toward meaningful change. I believe in meeting people where they are and honoring their unique goals and pace in the therapeutic process.
My approach draws from evidence-based and integrative methods such as relational trauma therapy, somatic therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and existential frameworks. I work from a harm reduction perspective, supporting clients as they confront life’s challenges and heal from past traumas in a way that feels safe and sustainable. Every therapeutic relationship is tailored to the individual, with the goal of creating a supportive, empowering space for growth.
