My Approach to Helping
It is my honor to have the opportunity to help you on your journey. My role is to be supportive in helping you develop your goals for therapy including what it will look and feel like to be done. Each person is the expert of their life and I can aid in showing possible patterns of when things might have gone a little off target.
I like to provide people with options for deciding what they want to work on and how they want to do heal. It is my utmost concern to provide a safe place to experiment with those options and decide if they are successful or need some redirection. In general, everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy their life and to feel good about their life and relationships.
More Info About My Practice
I am currently not on any insurance panels, however I am working on this. My fees are $100 per hour, however, I will provide sliding scale as I believe therapy should be available to all.
Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
I am skilled at working with grief and life transitionsand have both extensive training as well as personal life experience with loss and unexpected life changes. I am also skilled at working with Trauma and Critical Incident Stress Management. I have experience with bicultural relationships and the impact of spirituality/religion on one's life.
On the Fence About Going to Therapy?
If somebody isn't sure about therapy they should interview a few therapists and see if one fits best. Each person would hopefully feel comforted and challenged so if it doesn't seem right at first maybe give one more session/conversation but then advocate for yourself and find someone who does fit. There are no silly questions, so ask away and if someone gives an answer that doesn't feel right it's totally acceptable to not choose them.
What Makes up a Problem?
In my experience all three of these influence people's lives and any mental health issues. We all have hardwiring and genetics to compete with that are then influenced by the people who raise us and impact us on a day to day basis starting from birth all the way until death. Just as we are influenced from a young age we can continue to change even as we age.
