My Approach to Helping
Everyone deserves a safe place to explore and work through life’s difficult issues. I am passionate about helping people navigate these challenges. My role as counselor is as a partner and an educator with the goal of teaching people how to think about their thinking, recognized maladaptive behaviors and habits, then use skills to gain clarity and confidence to create cognitive and behavioral change.
Whether it is working on intense issues or just personal growth to live optimally, I can help you by utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused techniques that are tailored to each person’s unique situation and need. We will work to create practical, actionable strategies that you can use right away that will lead to meaningful growth. I am here for you and it is my privilege to join you on this journey of growth. Please reach out to schedule a free 15 minute consultation to see if I am the right fit to help.
Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
In addition to working with adults dealing with anxiety, mood disorders, and life's challenges, I also work with children, adolescents (with an additional focus on student athletes and actors as well as gifted & talented students), improving the parent-child connection, maternal mental health, postpartum support, managing parental rage, and helping educators and caregivers prevent burnout. As a mom of three young children, I understand the demands of parenthood and the unexpected challenges that accompany this stage in life.
What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
In addition to using traditional methods of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused techniques, I love the flexibility of tailoring my sessions to each client's needs. This includes the opportunity to infuse art, movement, and music into my practice. I am in the mind, body, and soul business and believe we are better when we approach change holistically.
On the Fence About Going to Therapy?
Taking the step to seek therapy can be a big one. Some people are apprehensive about starting counseling for a variety of reason. It is my opinion that everyone can benefit from a set time each week or a couple of times a month to focus just on them. Most issues we experience do not require years of therapy and tapping into your unconscious mind; instead, many issues and problems people have can be alleviated or improved by just having someone consistent to listen to them and help guide them on their journey to living a more optimal life. Whether you just need to be heard or a safe place to work on an issue, you deserve a caring partner to help you. If you have thought about getting therapy but something is keeping you from following through, I encourage you to reach out for a free 15 minute consultation so we can discuss these barriers to you getting the help you want.
