My Approach to Therapy
I believe therapy is most effective when clients feel safe, understood, and empowered to be themselves. My approach is collaborative, supportive, and tailored to your unique needs, strengths, and goals. I view therapy as a partnership in which we work together to better understand the challenges you are facing, identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and build the tools needed for meaningful and lasting change.
As a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), I have experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families in therapeutic foster care, residential treatment, and outpatient settings. These experiences have allowed me to support individuals facing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, self-esteem concerns, family conflict, grief, caregiving stress, and major life transitions. My background helps me meet clients where they are, whether they are navigating a current crisis, healing from past experiences, or seeking personal growth and greater self-understanding.
I draw from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, somatic approaches, trauma-focused therapies, and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT)-informed skills. Rather than using a one-size-fits-all model, I adapt these approaches to fit each client's needs and preferences. My goal is to help clients develop insight, strengthen coping skills, improve relationships, and build confidence in their ability to navigate life's challenges.
I strive to create a nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, respected, and accepted while also being gently challenged toward growth and healing. I believe meaningful change happens when we combine self-awareness with practical strategies and compassionate support. Whether you are working through anxiety, healing from trauma, navigating relationship difficulties, or adjusting to a significant life transition, I am committed to helping you move toward a more balanced, connected, and fulfilling life.
Through our work together, I hope you leave therapy with a deeper understanding of yourself, stronger coping tools, and a greater sense of confidence in your ability to face whatever comes next.
