Hello! My name is Amekia, and I am a licensed professional counselor in Georgia. I have a bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Masters's degree in Professional Counseling. I believe in using a client-centered approach and feel that it is important to establish a great rapport and relationship with each client and that we can learn from one another. I also feel that it is my job to be a support system and guide for you as you journey along the path of finding yourself again or growing. I have experience providing counseling services to a variety of individuals, including adolescents and adults, in various settings within the community and in schools. I specialize in working with clients experiencing depression, addiction, and marital, family, self-esteem, and behavior issues. I try my best to create a warm and open therapeutic environment where each client can feel comfortable sharing and opening up. I am a great listener but also provide helpful feedback that fosters growth and resilience. I have been a counselor for eight years, and I appreciate every client and experience that has helped me grow into the therapist that I am today. I enjoy getting to know people and watching them grow into the best versions of themselves. I allow my clients to set their therapy goals, but I am here to facilitate growth and will help adjust and develop therapy goals along this process.
