What's My Approach to Therapy?
It takes an incredible amount of courage to admit our own insecurities and difficulties. To seek help through therapy requires even more determination and strength. Therefore, I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental environment and work collaboratively to achieve your mental health goals.
I received my Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Florida and my Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) degree from the PGSP-Stanford PsyD Consortium. I completed my pre-doctoral internship at Rutgers Behavioral Health and my post-graduate training at The Guidance Center and Miller's Children's Hospital.
I integrate various evidence-based therapeutic approaches, such as trauma-informed models like internal family systems (IFS), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), incorporating mindfulness and self-compassion. I also provide family therapy, parent training, and couples therapy. I am fluent in Mandarin.
My clinical training and personal experience as a first-generation immigrant have made me mindful of the numerous risk factors unique to ethnic minorities, and I recognize the importance of providing culturally sensitive care. I also specialize in treatment for those who struggle with both psychological and medical conditions.
