My Approach to Therapy
Let's be real: life can be a lot. Between anxiety, relationships, past experiences, everyday responsibilities, and that lovely habit of overthinking absolutely everything, it's easy to feel like you're just trying to keep your head above water.
I'm a firm believer that therapy doesn't have to feel intimidating, overly clinical, or like you're sitting across from someone silently judging your life choices. (We've all made a few questionable ones.)
My approach to counseling is warm, down-to-earth, collaborative, and sprinkled with humor when appropriate. I believe meaningful change happens when you feel comfortable enough to show up exactly as you are, without judgment, pressure, or the expectation that you have everything figured out.
I draw from evidence-based approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT)-informed techniques, and motivational interviewing, to help you better understand your thoughts, manage overwhelming emotions, recognize unhelpful patterns, and build practical tools for navigating life's challenges.
Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma-related concerns, people-pleasing, self-worth, emotional regulation, or major life transitions, we'll work together to understand what's keeping you stuck and find ways to move forward.
As the founder of Mind in the Saddle, I also have a special place in my heart for equestrians navigating riding anxiety, confidence struggles, and performance pressure. But don't worry, you absolutely do not need to own a horse (or know which end bites) to work with me!
Above all, I want therapy to feel like a space where you can be honest, feel heard, laugh when you need to, cry when you need to, and work toward becoming a version of yourself that feels more confident, grounded, and authentically you.
You don't have to have it all figured out to take the first step. That's what we're here to work on together.
