What's My Approach to Therapy?

I believe that we all have inner resources and strengths we can draw upon in therapy, and my job is to help you connect with those strengths and resources to reach your therapeutic goals. I believe that attachment, previous relationships, family of origin, culture, society, and our personal experiences influence who we are and how we behave. We will explore these factors as we work together on your journey of healing.

My Practice & Services

I have a particular interest in working with couples, those in the LGBTQ+ community, and mental health professionals.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

Couple and relationship issues

Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance

My primary framework is based on attachment theory, which proposes that our early relationships in childhood influence us for the rest of our lives. Within this idea, I believe that the attachmentrelationshipconnection between therapist and client is the primary agent of change. It is so important that you and I have a safe, trusting, and open relationship so we can work together effectively and you can reach your therapeutic goals. I always encourage my clients to be honest with me about how therapy is going and how I can improve, change, or grow in order to be the best therapist for them.
