My Approach to Therapy

I hold a Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and specialize in somatic psychotherapy, grief work, and relationship therapy, offering both in-person and online sessions. You may be arriving here feeling burned out, overwhelmed, untethered, or caught in something that keeps repeating no matter how much insight you have. Maybe you are grieving, moving through a faith transition, carrying abandonment wounds, adjusting to pregnancy or postpartum, or finding that your relationships are asking more of you than you know how to give right now. Often, people come seeking therapy because something in them knows they cannot keep carrying their pain the same way. I want therapy to be a place where you do not have to perform wellness, explain yourself away, or rush toward resolution before something has been understood. I see people as beautifully complex and I do not believe our struggles exist in isolation. The pain we carry is shaped through relationships, family systems, culture, survival and the larger worlds we have had to adapt to. Because of that, I respect both your inner life and the context surrounding it. My work is rooted in a willingness to go there with people into grief, contradiction, conflict, identity, longing and the truths that often live underneath adaptation. Together, we might slow down, listen to what your symptoms, patterns, or protective strategies are trying to hold and notice what is happening in the room between us. We may talk, track sensation, use metaphor, or reflect on past experiences. My hope is that therapy becomes a space where more of you can come into view, not just the parts that have learned how to get by. I also provide relationship therapy and couples counseling for partners who want to interrupt painful patterns and strengthen their foundation. Throughout couples therapy, I help each person begin to name the dynamic underneath the dynamic: what keeps happening, what it may be protecting, how it was formed, and what is needed now to create something different. Im interested in helping you understand the pattern clearly enough that you can begin relating to it rather than getting stuck in the same cycles of hurt and disconnection. My thesis explored the lived experience of childhood abandonment and how early relational ruptures can shape identity, embodiment and meaning-making. My work is also informed by depth psychology, mythology, anthropology, ecology and the expressive arts. I became a therapist because I believe the most difficult and unresolved parts of life are often where the most important things are waitingnot because pain is beautiful, but because what has been buried, fragmented, or protected often carries its own intelligence. My role is to help create the conditions where something more honest, connected, and sustaining can begin to emerge.

My Practice & Services

Wild Refinement Studio was created from the belief that healing needs more than quick insight or short-term intensity. It needs depth, structure, relationship, and space for the parts of a person that have been carrying too much for too long. I also envision Wild Refinement Studio as a broader space for reflection, learning, and meaningful change, with future offerings that may include workshops, groups, and other supportive experiences beyond the therapy room.
