My Approach to Helping
My expertise is in the struggles of both couples (ENM ally) and individuals, particularly actors and other creatives, facing relationship difficulties, depression, self-doubt, anxiety, trauma, and loneliness. I bring warmth, acceptance, and empathy into my work. I believe that in our early life or in times of great difficulty or trauma, we do what is necessary to survive, and while these tactics were once essential for us to cope, they can come to no longer serve us. I help clients uncover how these tactics they once needed to employ may now be blocking their full aliveness, connection to others, and themselves.
I support clients in processing emotions they may never have previously felt safe enough to explore, which allows for the discovery of more nourishing ways of relating to themselves and others. I have extensive training in Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), emotionally focused therapy (EFT). eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), Gestalt, and modern analytic group therapy.
I work from a lens of acknowledging and exploring the impact of systemic oppression, racism, and trans and homophobia on the mental health of marginalized folks, particularly POC and queer communities. Finding the right therapist is all about finding the right fit. Contact me today, and we can discover if we are a match so we can get you help today.
