What's My Approach to Therapy?
Asking for help is often one of the hardest things to do. Often, by the time people seek me out, they have tried everything they can to get things turned around. Sometimes, it is the stigma around mental health that makes seeking help so difficult. I think differently. I recognize the courage it takes to ask for help. I commend those who are willing to prioritize self-improvement over silent suffering. Whether you are looking for help with one of the common challenges, or you have been dealing with difficulties for a long time, I can help guide you.
Together, lasting change is possible. The people I work with strive to become better people, more active in their community and family, feel more comfortable in their identity, and are better able to handle the obstacles of life. I believe to be an effective psychologist I need to be honest and direct, or put it colloquially, I will call you on your stuff.
A therapeutic relationship is one of the most under-respected tools today. There is great value in having an independent third party in your corner to help handle life's challenges. No life is easy, and no person is beyond the mistakes that come with being human. Therapy is a process to build towards finding contentment and gratitude in life. Let's talk.
