My Approach to Therapy

Hello! I'm Joe, and as a proud, cisgender, gay male, I'm deeply committed to creating a nurturing and affirming space for individuals, especially those within the LGBTQ+ community, to explore their identities and find healing. With credentials including a Master of Professional Studies in Integrated Behavioral Health from the University of Minnesota and licensure as a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC), alongside my ongoing journey as a Pre-Licensed Mental Health Professional, I bring a blend of academic knowledge and practical experience to my therapeutic space. In our therapeutic journey together, you can expect to be met with compassion, empathy, and respect. My goal is to provide a safe, non-judgmental space where you can freely explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Drawing from various therapeutic modalities, I tailor my approach to suit your unique needs and preferences, with a particular focus on humanistic and person-centered methods. This means that our work together will be centered around your individuality and autonomy, as we collaboratively uncover insights and strategies to help you thrive and live authentically.

My Practice & Services

My ideal client is someone who may feel uncertain about themselves, struggling with low self-esteem, motivation, and a sense of purpose. You might have experienced challenges that have left you feeling unheard or invalidated in the past, lacking a safe space to share your concerns openly. Despite current doubts or insecurities, you possess a willingness to embark on a journey of self-discovery and growth. You seek guidance and support to navigate through your internal and external concerns. My aim is to provide a nurturing and non-judgmental environment where you can explore these thoughts and feelings without fear of criticism. To foster a sense of trust in our therapeutic relationship. Together, we will work collaboratively to build self-awareness, resilience, and confidence, empowering you to find clarity, motivation, and a renewed sense of purpose in your life.
