What's My Approach to Therapy?
About Me
If you’re burned out and tired of trying harder, you’re not alone. You might be juggling work, relationships, and expectations, yet still feel like you’re falling short. Many of my clients are smart, capable, and deeply caring — but under the surface, they’re overwhelmed, anxious, or constantly second-guessing themselves.
I’ve been a licensed counselor for over 21 years. I was diagnosed with ADHD at 36, and I’m raising three kids with ADHD — one who has autism. I know how exhausting it is when the strategies that work for “everyone else” just don’t work for you. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and practical. After working with me, clients often say therapy finally makes sense.
What I Offer
Therapy with me isn’t about fixing who you are. It’s about understanding what’s going on, untangling the patterns that keep you stuck, and building tools that actually work for your life.
Who I Work With
You might be someone who shows up strong and steady for others, but secretly feels like you’re falling apart behind the scenes. Maybe you’re holding it together at work but struggling to function at home. Or maybe you’ve tried therapy before, only to be handed tools that didn’t fit your life or felt too surface-level.
I help people who feel stretched thin, emotionally flooded, or stuck in old patterns — whether that’s perfectionism, people-pleasing, burnout, or always being “on.” Together, we’ll make space for relief, clarity, and change that lasts.
How We’ll Work Together
We’ll figure out what’s working, what’s not, and what you actually need. You’ll learn practical ways to calm your body when emotions get big, create structure that helps with follow-through, and set boundaries without guilt. We’ll also explore the parts of you that show up under stress — like the perfectionist, the avoider, or the critic — and learn how to respond differently so you don’t feel pulled in every direction.
Everything we use is flexible, grounded, and built to fit your real life — not someone else’s idea of how you “should” be.
If therapy has felt unhelpful or disconnected before, this might feel different. Schedule a free consultation — let’s see if we’re a good fit.

How It Started: From “Too Much” to Therapy That Actually Gets You
I built the therapy I wish I had—because masking, overworking, and burning out aren’t a sustainable life plan
Prebble Counseling Services LLC was born out of frustration…with therapy that didn’t fit, systems that weren’t built for how I work, and a mental health field that often misses the mark with people who feel like they're not enough and too much (i.e., people-pleasers, perfectionists, etc.) and are severely burned out. I’ve been the high-achiever who couldn’t slow down, the people-pleaser who confused self-abandonment with love, the parent who couldn't get out of bed, the adult who always felt like they're failing, and the client who left sessions feeling unseen.
So I created something different: therapy for adults who have always felt “too much” or “never enough.” This isn’t traditional therapy. It’s direct, honest, validating work that helps you heal from emotional survival mode and start living on your own terms—with tools that actually work for you.
I established my practice to continue supporting others on their journey while balancing the needs of my own family…as both a Mom and a Gigi. I meet you where you are, not where others say you should be to build a life that works for you!
Had a Negative Therapy Experience?
Unfortunately, we often don?t find our best fit the first time around. Also, the unique challenges we experience with having undiagnosed ADHD, Autism, etc. are often not understood by therapists who do not specialize in ADHD, Autism, TwiceThrice Exceptional, and other Neurodivergent populations.
I have a unique ability to connect with individuals who have struggled to connect with therapists in the past. I do not sit and analyze nor judge; I also do not give advice.
I meet with you as one person empathizing with another person. We brainstorm and cultivate ideas and suggestions and you choose what you think the best option is. Don?t get me wrong, I will "call it like it is" from time to time, just like others who know you well would.
Clients have provided the following feedback in working with me:
"A professional disguised as the best friend you always wanted."
"Chris is an excellent therapist who gets me, my sense of humor and understands my thoughts process. She has been compassionate, relatable and so helpful in working with me to manage my stress triggers."
What I Say to People Concerned about the Therapy Process
I know it's a difficult decision and the stigmas that continue to surround mental health, though improving, do not make the choice any easier.
Give it a try!!
First, make sure you do your research; check the background, certifications, reviews. etc. of any provider you are thinking about working with.
If you try it and you find it's not working for you and you'd rather continue figuring things out on your own, you have the right to terminate treatment at any time!! You are an active participant in your treatment, your voice matters, and you have the final say in any decisions made about your care...unless a court order says otherwise.
Why I Care Deeply--
I recognize that every person's journey matters. Your story, your challenges, and your triumphs are at the heart of what I do. I am committed to providing compassionate support that empowers you to thrive.
