As a Marriage and Family therapist, I primarily work with couples, and some individuals addressing a variety of concerns. My goal is to help people increase security within themselves so that they may access and express their honest needs and emotions effectively, so that they may increase their ability to get their needs met and help create a life and relationships that are more in alignment with how one wants them to be. An additional goal is to provide a safe and comfortable environment where my clients feel free to express themselves openly and honestly and to provide compassion, insight, and practicality that may provide the opportunity to open doors to hope, healing, positive growth, and change. As a family systems trained therapist I strive to help clients look at all aspects of their life to help identify influences that may be currently contributing to expressed concerns, look at the current impact, and to increase tools to help effectively manage andor navigate through various challenges. I recognize each client is unique and appreciate the courage and patience that is often needed to develop long lasting changes. I work collaboratively with my clients to ensure we are meeting their goals and their true visions of how they want to live their life.
Welcome to my practice! I am a licensed clinical psychologist in both Oregon and California, bilingual in Farsi (Persian), with over 15 years of experience providing treatment to children, adolescents, and adults. I work with a wide range of emotional and behavioral challenges an individual faces in life, including depression, anxiety, traumatic experiences, grief, relationship and parenting issues, work and academic stress, chronic health issues, as well as acculturation and immigration issues. My therapeutic approach is based on the belief that individuals want to lead meaningful and fulfilling lives. Through therapy, I help them cultivate strengths while repairing prior damages, regaining control over struggles, and developing new skills. I have a flexible therapeutic style that draws from several major theoretical approaches to psychotherapy and is tailored to each individual’s needs, cultural background, and expectations from therapy. My goal is to collaborate with each client to help them achieve a greater sense of happiness, peace, and satisfaction in their lives.
I am currently accepting new clients. I work with my clients in establishing a therapeutic alliance and creating a safe place to work through various life stressors, challenges and mental health conditions. I help my clients develop a better understanding of their condition and develop new skills to handle various challenges. I have a holistic and empathetic approach to treatment addressing challenges from various angles. I help individuals who suffer from anxiety gain more control and handle anxiety better. I also treat individuals suffering from depression using evidence based patient focused treatment methods. Call me and lets work together to achieve a better balance and live life to your fullest potential.
Does any of this sound like you?: - I'm too busy and under too much stress. I never have enough time to get things done. - My relationship is not nearly as good as it should be. I'm not even sure I want to be married anymore. - I have a strong faith in God, or at least I thought I did....If God loves me, why is He letting me go through all this? - I want more from my life and my career. I want is a job that is meaningful, and not just a way to pay the bills. I challenge every man and woman I meet with to break free of shame, family dysfunction, fear, and worry. We will work together to help you gain the ability and skills you need to have a life of freedom, happiness, love, and purpose. The struggles you must cope with aren't easy, and you are growing and changing each and every day. I will not define you by your weaknesses, and I will never judge you for your mistakes. I'll get to know you as an individual and will help you understand your unique gifts, dreams, and hopes. Together we'll help you achieve them.
Seeking counseling is not easy. It takes bravery and commitment, but allows for the healing process to begin. Whether you are seeking counseling for grief and loss, anxiety, depression, work-related issues, or some other issue altogether, emotions and relationships play a pivotal part in what you are experiencing. My philosophy for therapy is to provide a welcoming, relaxed, and engaging person-centered therapeutic environment that encompasses each client's individual needs and focuses on discovering individual strengths that empower you to live happier, healthier, and more meaningful lives.
