My approach is to first listen and then adapt my clinical approach to fit the needs of my clients as opposed to trying to fit a client into a clinical model or approach.
We all develop patterns to protect ourselves.
Those patterns make sense, they were intelligent adaptations.
But over time, they can keep us stuck.
In our work, we slow things down, get curious about those patterns, understand the attachment needs underneath them, and create space to feel what hasn’t been safe to feel.
