I work toward supporting individual and collective liberation using anti-oppressive frameworks in therapy and supervision. I work with humans who recognize their own agency in their healing processes. I engage with people across different intersections of their identities that impact their lived experiences. By deepening our insights around the patterns, values, and narratives we hold about ourselves, and the systems and relationships we inhabit, we move toward greater understanding and compassion for ourselves and others. I offer a warm, compassionate, direct, engaged, and curious presence. As a licensed, trauma-informed counselor educator and supervisor, I bring expertise in theory, critical and deconstructed application of counseling paradigms, and cutting-edge research translated into effective individual and systemic interventions to support people in their journey toward authenticity, acceptance, and vitality. My approach supports the ongoing processes of becoming and belonging, deepening insight, learning to attune to our own inherent wisdom, and gently welcoming even the parts of ourselves that have felt challenging or unwanted. Despite the messages many of us have received, I believe we each carry deep intelligence, resilience, and creative possibilities for growth. I believe that when we take committed action aligned with our values, meaningful change becomes both visible and felt. I aim to meet you where you are and to collaboratively create a map that supports your growth in therapy and in supervision. My work is rooted in relational-cultural, attachment-based, transfeminist, and experiential approaches. This means I understand healing as something that happens in relationship, and I trust the present moment as a rich source of information and opportunity. Often, growth asks us to slow down, tune in, and sit with ourselves long enough for new possibilities to emerge. I hold each person as complex and interconnected, physically, emotionally, spiritually, and in community. I openly acknowledge the impact of systems of domination, including white supremacy, racism, transphobia, misogyny, classism, ableism, and fatphobia, on individual well-being and access to care. I believe ethical and competent counseling and supervision require ongoing reflection, accountability, and learning. I commit to this through my own supervision, consultation, training, and continuing education. In my role as a clinical supervisor, I integrate an intersectional and transfeminist framework alongside the integrative developmental model (IDM) to support counselors at all stages of development. My practice is eclectic, rooted in somatic, relational, attachment, experiential, and transfeminist therapies. I have been trained in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) levels 1 and 2 for over five years, and I have completed basic exposure and response prevention (ERP) training. I believe we heal in relationship and through connection. I also enjoy offering clinical supervision and consultation.
Imagine you’re at the point where things aren’t completely falling apart, but you know something isn’t working the way it should. You’re handling responsibilities, showing up for work, your family, and the people who depend on you. On the outside, things look fine. But internally, you might feel stuck in the same arguments, the same stress, or the same patterns that keep repeating, no matter how hard you try to handle them on your own. You may be the kind of person who usually figures things out yourself. You push forward, solve problems, and keep things moving. But when it comes to communication in your relationship, managing stress, or navigating a major transition, it can feel like you’re running the same play over and over and getting the same result. That’s often when people reach out. My role is to help you slow things down and make sense of what’s actually happening underneath the surface. In our work together, we focus less on venting and more on understanding patterns, improving communication, and building practical strategies that you can apply in real life. If you come in as a couple, I help both of you step out of the cycle you’re stuck in so you can actually hear each other and move the conversation forward. If you come in individually, we focus on identifying what’s keeping you stuck and developing clear, actionable ways to change it. My style is active, structured, and solution-focused. I ask direct questions, offer clear feedback, and help you translate insight into real change. The goal isn’t just to talk about problems. The goal is to help you move forward with more clarity, better communication, and practical tools you can use outside the therapy room. If you’re motivated to do the work and ready to approach things differently, therapy can be a powerful place to reset patterns and start building something healthier going forward.
Psychotherapy is a place for the the private inner self to speak. This aspect of self has multiple voices and therapy is the place where they may be heard. What otherwise cannot be spoken may in therapy receive understanding. In this unique form of relating otherwise unheard aspects of self are extended a compassionate and intelligent ear. It is this to which I am devoted. Some of the voices that come forth in therapy are those of shame or grief or confusion or hurt or abandonment, deep places of wound and longing. Others may be the voices of lost goodness, misplaced dreams, and feared aspirations. Therapy as heart dialogue listens to the rhythms of these voices while attuning to the potentials for growth, pathways for development, images of unrealized possibilities. Psychotherapy as I practice it is a form of sustained attention to suspended and unheard aspects of self, a venue where rhythms of heart and mind can be explored, a vessel for holding the mystery that is oneself. My training (including extensive post-doctoral levels) is in the multiple traditions of depth psychology. Part of my work in therapy also has included my writing professional papers, having given talks at international conferences, teaching at post-graduate institutes, and having served on the board of editors of several professional journals. I also bring a developed background in mindfulness and contemplative practices. Among other aspects of training, I was a post-doctoral fellow at the Erik Erikson Institute which then was part of the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard. I also was a consultant at the United Nations where I served as a representative, developing and participating in numerous programs. In addition, I am available to those therapists that are moved to deepen their own work with their clients. I shall do all that I can to help you.
My approach comes from a strengths-based perspective. I believe that individuals and those in relationship have the ability to make significant life changes by identifying the sources of their current difficulties, understanding why their coping methods may have made good sense at the time, and learning new ways of being in the world that fit with who they are now and that support their growth and heart's desire. My role is to provide a supportive, trust-based environment and help individuals and relationship partners create the lives they wish to live. I see a wide variety of individual adults and those in relationships of all sizes, as well as college students, those grieving pet loss, and technical professionals, given my own background as a software engineer. I also specialize in working with those on the autism spectrum, including neurodivergent adults and relationships in which one or more partners are on the spectrum. I use a largely psychodynamic perspective, often integrating mindfulness and cognitive behavioral approaches. I'm interested in research areas of positive psychology, the neurobiology of connection, adaptive solitude, therapeutic journal writing, and the role of nutrition and fitness on mood, mental health, and well-being. I look forward to meeting you!

I use a wide variety of interventions, techniques, and theories in my practice. I believe there is a very close link between mind, body, and emotion. Some interventions or coping skills I like to employ involve mindfulness, perspective shifting, and the introduction of various coping strategies.
I have worked with individuals of all ages in my 30 years of practice. I offer individual and group therapy in a confidential setting, utilizing both telehealth and in-person services. I use an eclectic model of treatment combining cognitive behavioral therapy with psychodynamic work, as needed. My goal is to meet each client with attention to their own needs.
