I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor. After completing training in mental health counseling at Capella University, I began practicing in several different settings from residential to outpatient.
With over 20 years of experience, I specialize in individual therapy for adults. My career with mental health services started after receiving a master's degree in counseling psychology from Argosy University in Atlanta, GA. Prior to private practice, I worked in a variety of settings, including community mental health centers, crisis intervention, hospital emergency rooms, nursing homes, jails/prisons, outpatient programs, and large non-profits. My experience also includes clinical and administrative supervision of mental health professionals. I have helped my clients overcome issues and problems related to eating issues, trauma, drug addiction, depression, anxiety/panic, divorce, work-related difficulties, family issues, and relationship conflict.
I’m the founder of Walker Family Services, a family therapist supporting individuals, families, and underserved communities with behavioral health services in counseling, addiction recovery support, and community-based mental health care. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, or simply trying to navigate life’s challenges, you do not have to go through it alone. I understand that reaching out for help can be difficult, especially when you’ve spent so much time trying to manage things on your own. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and judgment-free space where you feel heard, respected, and empowered throughout your healing journey. My approach is compassionate, solution-focused, and centered on helping you better understand yourself while building healthier coping skills, emotional stability, and personal growth. I believe healing begins with trust, honesty, and a genuine connection where you feel comfortable being yourself without fear of judgment. As the founder of Walker Family Services, I have dedicated my career to supporting individuals, families, and underserved communities through behavioral health services, counseling, addiction recovery support, and community-based mental health care. My passion for this work comes from personal experiences that inspired me to turn pain into purpose, and to help others find hope, healing, and direction in their own lives. Together, we will work toward helping you regain confidence, improve your emotional well-being, and move forward one step at a time.

I am Kristina Joseph, a Licensed Clinical Social worker. My main goal is to meet the client where they are in their mental health journey. This means I work with each client to better understand which modality works best for them. I use different best practices techniques in order to help my clients where they are at the point of the first session as well as the 100th session. I change based on what my clients need. I work with my clients to decide what works best for them. They are the true expert of their lives; I am here to guide their better selves.
I work with each client as a team effort. Each person I see has their own story and unique perspective on that story, and I believe that within that story are the seeds of healing. My approach is to see you as a whole person who is struggling with something, whether it is anxiety, depression, relationship issues, substance abuse, communication, parenting, trauma, etc. Most often, it is how we perceive a situation or a struggle that shapes how we deal with it or respond to it. As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Georgia, I hope I can help you with whatever your struggle may be, and help you rewrite your story. My favorite book of all time is Viktor Frankl's *Man's Search for Meaning*. One of the many wonderful things he says in that book is, "When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves."
My name is Dr. Katina Pittman. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia with 16 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress, anxiety, and depression. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support & empower you in that journey. My therapeutic approach changes based on the needs of each client. Some of the approaches I use are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Person-Centered therapy. I believe that our thoughts, feelings, and behavior are connected. I work with individuals in identifying any underlying thoughts and expressing their feelings. Once we identify those thoughts the goal is to use cognitive restructuring to help replace those thoughts and improve feelings. I also educate on healthy self-care and coping skills to improve overall well-being. Clients who are struggling with problem-solving would be educated on effective problem-solving skills. I work primarily with adults who struggle with everyday life stressors such as financial concerns, relationship struggles, family issues, medical concerns, job concerns, or other concerns. I also work with those who are feeling depressed, anxious, struggle with low self-esteem or body image issues. My communication style involves actively listening, being nonjudgmental, validating, and being empathic. I ask a lot of open-ended questions to help clients truly explore their thoughts and emotions and gain insight into their behavior. The goal is to establish a relationship built on trust and mutual respect where clients feel supported and empowered. I always strive to create a positive and supportive environment when working with clients. I became a therapist because I have always had a desire to help others. I enjoy making a difference in the lives of others by helping people work through the challenges they face. My goal is to see individuals live healthier and happier lives. My approach to goal setting is to have clients identify the changes they want to make. I typically start by asking clients what brings them to therapy and what their main concerns are. Once we identify the goals we prioritize those goals to determine which goal the client wants to work on first, second, and so forth. Following this, we create smaller short-term goals to accomplish the bigger goal. This would be a collaborative process between myself and the client, one in which we review regularly to determine progress made towards reaching the goals. During the first session, we would go over informed consent and confidentiality. I complete an intake assessment so that I can get to know what is concerning each individual, their history, and their goals for counseling. My goal is to build a good therapeutic relationship with each client one that empowers and supports. I also educate clients further on my therapeutic approach during the first session.
Hi there! Transitioning into college, finding a new job, or even learning that you have a newly diagnosed, chronic illness? You do not have to walk this journey alone! I am here to create a safe space for each client to find strength, process their emotions within their new exploration, and regain balance in their life. As your counselor, my plan is to meet you where you are, with encouragement and non-judgment. My goal is to empower you to take charge and become the expert of your life. I like to tailor techniques based on what you are comfortable with. My most used modalities are mindfulness and cognitive behavioral therapy. You are the driver, and I am in the passenger seat holding directions! I have expertise in anxiety and stress management, college counseling, self-esteem building, career development, and counseling for chronic illness. I like to think that sessions with me feel more like a conversation vs. me talking "at" you. I want you, the client, to feel as an equal. Imagine us sipping tea and conversing about your most recent anxiety-driven experience and how we can work together to practice a healthy way of coping. And sometimes we will add some humor to the mix! I've always wanted to assist others in finding purpose in their lives and to remind them that they matter. I've worked in hospital settings, clinics, homes, schools, and universities. From each experience, my passion has remained to provide a safe space for clients to find balance, purpose, and practice self-care. I like to first ask what was the last straw that guided you to therapy. From there, tell me 3 things that you want to change in your daily life between now and the next 3 months in counseling. The goals are not set in stone and can always be reassessed, this is the first step in the right direction. The first session is the first time we get to learn from one another. I will introduce myself, my hobbies, and what therapy can look like for us. Then the floor is yours! You can discuss your hobbies or even go straight into what is on your mind for the session. I am also readily available for questions you may have within the session.
Counseling can be an effective way to alleviate distress, discover better ways to solve problems, learn new ways of relating to others, or change long-term behavior problems. However, counseling may also involve the risk of remembering unpleasant events and may arouse other emotions, which may affect how you relate to others. I recognize that personal change is often a difficult process. I strive to provide a supportive, respectful, and collaborative therapeutic environment where you can fully explore your concerns, challenges, and values. The counseling relationship allows you to seek perspective through a mutual, accepting, empathetic, and authentic relationship. With nearly 20 years of experience in the field, my therapeutic orientation involves Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, specifically Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), which is committed to promoting emotional well-being through short-term therapy with long-term results. I also utilize a variety of techniques in counseling, including Reality Therapy, which focuses on problem-solving, rebuilding connections, and goal-setting. I also utilize other methods such as Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Expressive Arts, and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (MBCT).
