Dion holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from California State University, Chico, and a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grand Canyon University. She has completed specialized training in internal family systems (IFS) and emotionally focused therapy (EFT), approaches that inform her relational, attachment-based, and insight-oriented work with clients. Dion has worked in community mental health, as well as the nonprofit sector, where she supported individuals navigating complex emotional and relational challenges. She specializes in women’s health, with a special passion for those navigating infertility, birth trauma, perinatal mood and anxiety challenges (PMADs), pregnancy and infant loss, and the emotional weight of self-criticism and perfectionism. Dion is currently pursuing her Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C). Many of her clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed by life transitions, relationship challenges, people-pleasing patterns, or the quiet grief that can accompany reproductive struggles. She believes women deserve meaningful support during these experiences, especially in a culture that often encourages them to move on, stay strong, or simply try again. Dion intentionally creates a space where women can slow down, process their experiences fully, and feel deeply understood in ways they may not have previously experienced. Her therapeutic style is direct, compassionate, and collaborative. She integrates thoughtful humor with deeper emotional exploration, helping clients understand how past experiences shape current emotional patterns and relationships. Through this work, clients develop greater self-compassion, clarity, and a stronger connection to themselves. Dion’s goal is to help clients heal past wounds, understand themselves more fully, and move forward into new chapters of life feeling more grounded, whole, and connected to who they are becoming. Dion currently lives in Spain with her husband, their two dogs, and two cats. Outside of therapy, she enjoys reading romance novels, traveling, working out, and prioritizing her own personal growth through therapy.

I have been passionately helping people improve their sleep for over a decade. I offer compassionate, tailored, evidenced-based treatments. I am passionate about helping anyone improve their sleep. I am a licensed clinical health psychologist board certified in behavioral sleep medicine. I trained as a clinical fellow at the Stanford Sleep Medicine Center and built the first Sleep and Circadian Health Program for the Marine Corps Special Operations Command. I take a holistic approach to treating sleep problems by taking into account all relevant factors such as cultural background, personal history, family and friends, living arrangements, preferences, and other health and mental health conditions. My work is based in Behavioral Sleep Medicine (BSM). This non-medication approach uses brief, evidence-based methods to treat various sleep disorders and sleep disturbances (e.g., insomnia, hypersomnia, circadian rhythm disorders, nightmares, PAP adjustment, etc) by focusing on unhelpful thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors that can contribute to sleep concerns. The ultimate goal of my treatment approach is to support healthy sleep behaviors and promote thinking about sleep in a healthy and positive light. Schedule a brief, free consultation call to learn more about how this approach could work for you and your sleep goals!
You might look like you’ve got it together—but inside, it’s chaos. Anxiety. obsessive compulsion (OCD) spirals. Overthinking everything. Burned out but still performing. You’ve read the books, done the podcasts, tried to out-think the problem. And here you are, scrolling therapist profiles, wondering if anything will actually work. Good news: it can. But it takes real work, not just good intentions. I don’t do vague nodding or “tell me more about that” loops that go nowhere. I’m an active, direct therapist who helps you name what’s actually going on—and then do something about it. I’m Level 1 trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS), which means we’ll work with your internal patterns instead of fighting them. For couples, I use Relational Life Therapy (RLT) to cut through blame, shutdowns, and power struggles. You’ll both be heard—but I won’t let either of you hide. One of my specialties is men’s work—real conversations about emotion, strength, connection, and not repeating what your dad did. I also work extensively with queer men navigating identity, shame, sex, dating, and how to belong in spaces that weren’t built with you in mind. These are two distinct areas of focus, and I take each seriously. My approach is collaborative, grounded, and unapologetically honest. There’s room for humor. There’s room for contradiction. There’s room for all of you—and for the version of you that’s ready to live with less noise and more clarity. If you’re looking not just for insight but for real, actionable change—and you want a therapist who will support that and hold you accountable to the commitments you’ve made to yourself—we’ll probably work well together.
As a cognitive-behavioral and solution-focused therapist, my goal is to help children, teenagers and young adults unearth their real potential and lead lives that are more peaceful, enjoyable, and worth celebrating. Though we can't change troubling situations from the past, we can work collaboratively to better understand and resolve challenges in your own child's life or inside your family system. By utilizing complementary therapy techniques and approaches, we will uncover negative perceptions or behavior patterns that may be preventing your child or teen from experiencing a more meaningful and fulfilling life, as well as support a shift in behavioral and emotional expression that will enable the individual's positive nature and true strengths to thrive. I believe that everyone has the ability to change and improve, and I hope to take part in you or your family's positive journey toward empowerment, wellbeing, and growth.
I believe listening to, and respecting, your experience is where change begins. I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in California, and I work with mood challenges, including anxiety and depression, relationship building and maintenance, trauma, attachment needs, and life transitions.
I assume that everyone is doing the best they can to handle the uncertainties and ups & downs of life. People often seek my help when the approaches or strategies that have worked well for them in the past don't fit or help with current circumstances. Or perhaps the old approaches and strategies have always been fraught with problems and now it feels like the right time try to make fundamental changes. In either case, my goal is to collaborate and think together with you so that we can understand what is and is not working for you, why, and to help you come up with more satisfying solutions to your circumstances. My approach is interactive, warm, and direct. I want us to recognize and build on your strengths as well as understand your struggles. I emphasize safety, respect, honesty, and curiosity because these values that facilitate a trusting and collaborative therapeutic relationship.
I believe that every person carries within them the capacity to heal — and that the right support, at the right time, can make all the difference. My approach is rooted in the understanding that what happened to you is not who you are. Whether you are carrying childhood trauma, anxiety, depression, or the kind of emotional overwhelm that makes everyday life feel like too much — I meet you exactly where you are, without judgment, and we build from there. I bring a culturally responsive, trauma-informed lens to every session. Using EMDR, Parts Work, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and mindfulness, we go beneath the surface to address what is actually driving your pain — not just manage the symptoms. I know that reaching out takes courage. My role is to make that decision worth it — by creating a space that feels safe, honest, and built around you. With offices in San Francisco and Burlingame, California, I am here when you are ready.
You want to be your best self, but not sure exactly what that is or how to get there. You’re afraid to do the wrong things at times and do nothing as a result. When you and your partner talk about your relationship you mean well, but say the wrong things or it comes out the wrong way. Falling short on friendships, dating and your career and you’re not sure why. You need clarity and a plan of action, but turning to friends or family doesn’t feel like the way to go. Clients come to me to identify and change thought and relational patterns that are no longer helping them achieve their goals or prevent them from feeling good about themselves and their lives. I work with people in an interactive and collaborative way to identify these patterns and change them in a way that is more in line with their goals and values. My demeanor is grounded and approachable which enables people to feel comfortable working through what has brought them to my office. My ability to empathize, be patient and inject humor when appropriate helps helps me connect with people and makes therapy a positive, rewarding and real experience. As a therapist, I enjoy traveling alongside my clients to help them navigate the many complexities of transitional times. Pregnancy, motherhood, starting a new job or moving through divorce are significant stressors for people, even when the transition is one you have chosen. These times of intense change bring with them an opportunity for growth and for deepening our understanding of ourselves. I strive to foster a safe, nurturing, and non-judgmental environment for my clients to explore their unique lives, inclusive of births and deaths and joys and wounds. I believe that change can occur when clients feel truly accepted. In our culture, we receive many messages that we are not good enough or are not doing it “right,” and this can lead to problems with self-esteem, anxiety, shame, and depression. I hope that together we can create an environment that helps you to move forward in your life, toward your personal goals for health and happiness. As a mother to three grown children, I have rich life experience that I draw from in my work with clients. I am a trauma-informed therapist and I utilize Internal Family Systems, Attachment Theory, and Mindfulness practices, in order to help my clients change and grow.
