Dion holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from California State University, Chico, and a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grand Canyon University. She has completed specialized training in internal family systems (IFS) and emotionally focused therapy (EFT), approaches that inform her relational, attachment-based, and insight-oriented work with clients. Dion has worked in community mental health, as well as the nonprofit sector, where she supported individuals navigating complex emotional and relational challenges. She specializes in women’s health, with a special passion for those navigating infertility, birth trauma, perinatal mood and anxiety challenges (PMADs), pregnancy and infant loss, and the emotional weight of self-criticism and perfectionism. Dion is currently pursuing her Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C). Many of her clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed by life transitions, relationship challenges, people-pleasing patterns, or the quiet grief that can accompany reproductive struggles. She believes women deserve meaningful support during these experiences, especially in a culture that often encourages them to move on, stay strong, or simply try again. Dion intentionally creates a space where women can slow down, process their experiences fully, and feel deeply understood in ways they may not have previously experienced. Her therapeutic style is direct, compassionate, and collaborative. She integrates thoughtful humor with deeper emotional exploration, helping clients understand how past experiences shape current emotional patterns and relationships. Through this work, clients develop greater self-compassion, clarity, and a stronger connection to themselves. Dion’s goal is to help clients heal past wounds, understand themselves more fully, and move forward into new chapters of life feeling more grounded, whole, and connected to who they are becoming. Dion currently lives in Spain with her husband, their two dogs, and two cats. Outside of therapy, she enjoys reading romance novels, traveling, working out, and prioritizing her own personal growth through therapy.
Hello, my name is Romina Schnelle, and I’m an eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapist and Licensed Marriage and (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)) in California. If you’re here, you might be feeling overwhelmed by grief, anxiety, trauma, or the daily challenges of navigating life. I want you to know that you’re not alone, and I’m here to support you. You may be seeking therapy because you feel stuck, overwhelmed, or not yourself. Perhaps you’ve been struggling with past trauma, grief, anxiety, or low self-esteem, and it feels like no matter what you do, you can’t seem to break free from these patterns. You might also be grappling with issues related to your cultural identity, or feeling the weight of societal expectations as a first-generation individual. Or maybe you’re looking for a safe space where you can fully be yourself as part of the LGBTQ+ community. Whatever your reason, it’s valid, and asking for help is okay. My approach to therapy is rooted in my personal experiences and professional training. I’m passionate about using EMDR therapy to help you process and heal from trauma and emotional pain. EMDR is a powerful, evidence-based therapy that helps your brain reprocess distressing memories, so you can heal from the inside out. Here’s how we can work together: From the very first session, I strive to create a warm, nonjudgmental environment where you feel safe sharing your story. Your comfort and trust are essential to the healing process. I will take the time to understand your unique experiences, challenges, and goals. Whether you’re dealing with the effects of trauma, working through limiting self-beliefs, or seeking a deeper understanding of your identity, we’ll work at your pace and focus on what matters most to you. EMDR is not a one-size-fits-all approach. I will tailor our work to suit your needs, using techniques and strategies that resonate with you. We’ll work together to identify and target the memories and beliefs holding you back. My goal is to empower you with the tools and insights you need to navigate life’s challenges more effectively. We will work on developing coping strategies, enhancing your self-awareness, and building resilience, so you can confidently move forward. Healing is a journey, and I am here to walk alongside you every step of the way. Whether you’re seeking to overcome trauma, manage anxiety, or simply find more peace and balance in your life, I’m committed to supporting you with compassion, understanding, and professional expertise. If you’re ready to take the next step in your healing journey, I invite you to reach out for an intake. We can discuss your goals in depth and how we might work together to create the positive changes you desire. You don’t have to face this journey alone; I’m here to support you.
I hold a safe nonjudgmental space where you can explore, learn new tools, and challenge beliefs that aren't working anymore.
Being alive is a constant process of evolution and transformation, sometimes seemingly without our input. At times, the ever-evolving quality of life can feel exciting and expansive, and at others, it can feel overwhelming and chaotic. Psychotherapy provides a unique opportunity for the client and therapist to curiously engage with, untangle, and understand life’s processes, beginning to understand the inner world and its effect on the external. In doing so, a softening of rigid defenses and old patterns begins, inviting symbols, feelings, memories, thoughts, and desires to emerge in service to a fuller expression of the self. It is a process where creative impulses are given the freedom to evolve from the unknown. The ultimate goal is to cultivate a sense of self that feels embodied, integrated, and more deeply connected to both personal truth and relational others. My personal style as a clinician is humorous, warm, honest, and empathetic. I’m a Licensed Marriage and (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)) in California. I practice from a psychodynamic perspective, grounded in analytic and psychoanalytic theory. In practice, I am compassionate and collaborative, balancing supportive and expressive techniques as needed to help people recognize patterns of relating, explore their emotional depths, and uncover meaning in their experiences. Every person is unique, and the therapeutic encounter is a deeply connected experience. As a result, psychotherapy is highly individualized to each client. While honoring each person’s individuality, I also recognize that, as human beings, we are not so different from one another, and many of our struggles run in similar veins. I work well with people who are navigating their identity and how it can be expressed in the world, processing early childhood wounds, struggling with religious trauma, understanding neurodivergence, and working through grief and loss. As a former designer, I have a unique insight into the creative experience, which allows me to offer empathy and understanding to creatives who are struggling to express themselves fully. Mostly, I enjoy sitting with people who are curious and want to better understand themselves and others.
The client is who matters in my office! Our Sessions would be collaborative, honest, and empathetic. We would work on re-framing cognitive distortions, and misunderstood emotions by creating new options and dismissing old patterns by creating new ways of living! Our main goal would be to put a new life plan in operation, incorporated with successful communication and coping methods, and follow them as they progress to a new and exciting way of life! Please see the sections, "Practice Information", and "Concerns & Issues I help With" for additional clinical information.
We all contain a force that strives for self-realization. When we nurture this force, we find positive ways of existing within and experiencing the world around this. We gain the strength necessary to tolerate stress and conflict. Without support, though, we may adopt unhealthy ways of surviving that directly counter how we wish to be. I offer a blend of psychotherapy that focuses on self-acceptance and self-discovery as the tools for emotional, behavioral, and social development. I have a deep respect for you and for the struggles that have become the way you learned to survive in the world. I believe in your ability to grow and heal. It is important that my clients feel understood and seen. I'll meet you where you are, nurturing your awareness of feelings, thoughts, and behaviors. By building insight and getting plenty of support, you can make positive choices, bounce back from conflict, and access your strengths. I work to help clients cope with, manage, and resolve fear, anxiety, anger, guilt, depression, low self-esteem, and shame. My background in music makes me especially sensitive to the artist's struggles for authenticity and self-confidence. In a sense, I help clients find their "voice" in the areas of emotional impairment. I also understand the challenges of creative blocks and the difficulties of navigating the business world's highs and lows.
I work with highly insightful women and members of the LGBTQ+ community who, despite their best efforts, feel stuck. Often admired for their competence and charisma, it may not be apparent they've overcome early trauma, abandonment, or emotional neglect. They struggle privately with overthinking and intense feelings like guilt, shame, jealousy, and anger. Dynamics with romantic partners, family members, colleagues, or friends are painful and confusing, resulting in conflict or anxiety. Coping mechanisms like perfectionism, control, avoidance, and people-pleasing provide a false sense of safety while actually sabotaging intimacy and inner-peace. Intelligent and introspective, my clients know there's more to life than survival—they're committed to self-actualization. I specialize in synthesizing advanced, evidence-based interventions with depth-oriented, trauma-focused, and attachment-informed care. By strategically blending behavioral, cognitive, experiential, and relational modalities, I'm able to effectively target the specific problems my clients face, facilitating both immediate, practical improvements and sustained, profound growth. I practice flexibly and tailor treatment for the individual needs of each of my clients. How I work with you will depend on what works for you. We might start by addressing your most urgent problems, decreasing your symptoms, and learning coping skills, then naturally progress to practicing mindful awareness, regulating your nervous syste, safely experiencing emotions, and finding spiritual fulfillment. Over time, my clients develop a more secure sense of self, a deeper trust in their intuition, and greater self-compassion. They learn to communicate their needs clearly, set and maintain boundaries, and build healthy relationships. They increase their capacity to feel difficult emotions and make room for painful experiences without being consumed by them. In the safety of our relationship, my clients heal the wounds of the past, integrate the protective and vulnerable aspects of themselves, and build a future aligned with who they really are.
Are you struggling to handle a recent change in your life? Sometimes life's challenges are difficult to cope with on our own. A caring, trusted, and competent therapist can help you move beyond challenges, cope with new changes, and grow as a person. This growth can help improve your relationships with family, friends, and co-workers and boost your self-esteem. I offer you a safe and caring environment in which you explore how you respond to life's changes, examine how you are in your relationships with yourself and others, and evaluate which changes can help you achieve the life you desire. I believe we are each whole and unique beings with the ability to achieve fulfilling lives. Let's work together to explore and overcome your obstacles to achieving a fulfilling life.
I believe therapy should be a safe space where someone in need of help can express themselves without being judged. Eliminating behaviors and beliefs that no longer serve you can help you grow. I use a range of approaches tailored to your needs, assisting you to develop skills and tools that nurture your growth. I use a blend of humanistic and cognitive approaches in therapy, focusing on creating a supportive, empathetic space while helping you develop practical tools for change. A key goal of treatment is to identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns that can negatively impact your emotions and mood, allowing for healthier perspectives and more balanced emotional well-being. Hello! My goal as your therapist is to create a space that feels safe and supportive. Whether you are having a particular difficulty with worry, feeling down, family concerns, or just need a safe space to show up once a week, I’m here to provide support in a way that specifically meets your needs. I believe that connection and trust are foundational aspects of a therapeutic relationship, and I will prioritize getting to know you as a full person instead of a list of symptoms. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I can understand how everyone’s life and experiences are unique. I have experience working within the community, and am particularly passionate about supporting you in wherever you are in your journey of identity and self-discovery. Whether you’re new to therapy or picking up where you left off on your therapeutic journey, I’m here as a place of support and compassion. Please feel free to reach out for a free 15-minute consultation. I look forward to meeting you!
Do you feel like you’re carrying the weight of the world? Between family expectations, cultural pressure, and the daily grind of systemic stress, it’s easy to feel stuck in a cycle of overthinking. If you are a young adult from marginalized communities navigating systemic injustice, identity questions, or the aftermath of trauma, I want you to know: you don't have to stay strong for everyone else anymore. I help people who feel "burned out" by life finally find a space where they can just be themselves. We won't just talk in circles. We will build a practical "toolbox" together. Using CBT and trauma-informed care, I help my clients: Quiet the mental noise and stop the overthinking spiral. Set boundaries with family or work without feeling like a "bad person." Process systemic and childhood trauma that keeps you feeling stuck. I know that finding a therapist who "gets it" and who you can actually afford is hard. That’s why I accept IEHP, Aetna, and First Health, and I offer sliding-scale spots for those without insurance. You’ve been navigating this alone for long enough. Let's see if we're a good fit.
