Therapy is my work but it's also my joy. As a curious, open-hearted person, I want to understand what motivates, scares and fulfills you. Your imperfections and quirks are welcome in my office, as are your values and beliefs, and all that makes you unique. I don't reach for perfection, rather seek a fuller, truer experience of life and will work with you to find what that means for you. I work with people from a belief that mental health and healing develop from within, accessing strengths and internal resources which may have become obscured in the ways we adapt to life circumstances. The strength that I bring to you is a combination of compassion, empowerment, acceptance, and a belief that with help, you can develop new perspectives and grow into the life that you want.

I am a registered psychologist and the founder of Constellation Mental Health Services. I typically work with adults navigating trauma, neurodivergence, identity, and complex life transitions. My work is grounded in nervous system regulation, collaboration, and respect for the meaning people make of their lived experience. I have a particular interest in working with individuals who feel “stuck”—whether due to trauma, chronic stress, pain, burnout, or longstanding patterns that no longer feel aligned. Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, sensitive, and perceptive, yet find themselves overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure how to move forward in a way that feels authentic and sustainable. My approach is integrative and trauma-informed. I draw from acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), narrative and meaning-focused therapies, somatic and body-based approaches, and mindfulness-informed practices. I place strong emphasis on collaboration, pacing, and psychological safety, recognizing that meaningful change unfolds best when people feel genuinely seen, respected, and understood. In addition to therapy, I offer psychological assessment and diagnostic clarification, particularly for complex presentations involving trauma, neurodevelopmental differences, and overlapping mental health concerns. I view assessment as a therapeutic process in itself that can offer clarity, validation, and a more compassionate understanding of self. Above all, I strive to offer a space that is grounded, curious, and human, where clients can explore their inner world, reconnect with their values, and move toward lives that feel more regulated, meaningful, and whole.

Do you ever get the feeling that you're being weighed down by life and it all just seems relentless and hopeless or like it's closing in on you? Maybe it's unresolved issues from your past. Maybe it's struggles in your relationships or confusion about who you are or where you're going in life. Maybe you feel lonely or empty. Maybe you sense that something really bad happened to you when you were younger, but you just can't remember. Maybe you bottle up your feelings and then find that the smallest thing makes you cry or become angry. You might feel stuck, lost, overwhelmed, inadequate, anxious, empty, resentful. You are not alone. I have 9+ years of experience working with people facing these issues. Life is already hard enough as it is, so calling in a professional like me who has dedicated their career to helping people just like you is a wise and thoughtful choice. Let me take the guess-work out of it for you. Let me navigate these difficult and complex issues with you so that you can learn, grow, and progress. Let me help you become the person you want to be and have the life you want to have. Together, we will explore your feelings, your circumstances, and your options. Therapy with me will feel like unpacking a heavy suitcase, one item at a time, and discovering what you've been carrying so that you can decide what to keep, what to let go of, or what to reorganize. I will provide you with a safe, empathetic, kind, judgment-free space and I will work with you to help you regain control of your life and yourself. You will learn skills to build trust, communicate effectively, increase your sense of self-worth, and prioritize your true needs—so that you can create deeper, more meaningful connections and so that you don't have to continue feeling so hopeless. If you’ve never gone to therapy and are nervous about taking the leap, reach out to me for a no-obligation free consult. I have a very down-to-earth style and I'll talk with you like a real human being, not like a client. You are so much more than that to me and I intend to show you. My genuine, kind, inviting demeanour will make you feel warm, welcome, and seen. I will hear you out, free of any judgement no matter what thoughts and feelings come out, and you will finally have a place to just. be. you. I am here for you and I cannot wait to meet you.

I can help you recover from trauma, depression, anxiety, phobias, as well as work through relationship issues and live a more meaningful and fulfilling life. My skills come not only from my education and training, but also from a significant amount of lived experience. I know how hard it can be to move forward and will always offer a safe and non-judgemental space. My goal is to provide truly helpful, evidence-based psychological assessment and counselling for adult individuals and couples. I always aim to provide the best possible type of therapy according to your preferences and the way your mind works. I am neurodiversity affirming and believe in working with you, not on you. Over and above the therapy hour, I also offer your own secure and private portal of relevant digital resources at no extra cost.

Hi, I’m Taylor! I value honesty in my work, so let’s be honest: counselling is hard. It can be uncomfortable and uncertain. And it can be really, really helpful. I’d like to support you through whatever you’re dealing with right now, with humour, with honesty, and with empathy. As a psychologist in Alberta, I value my relationship with clients, and I aim to create a safe space that helps validate you and also challenges you. Whether you’re here to work on specific goals or you’re looking for personal growth, I would be honoured to be part of the process. Take a look around, see if I’m a good fit for you, and when you’re ready, let’s get to work!

Through a compassionate, helpful process, patients move toward achieving their goals and moving forward in their lives, sometimes by processing their past. In counseling, patients address a range of issues through a variety of therapies, including hypnosis, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and emotional freedom techniques.

Jenn Betts, founder and CEO of the Calgary Institute of Counselling, started the agency to bring a change to the world of counselling and psychology. After her many unhelpful and hurtful experience with some of her own psychologists she knew things needed to change. She therefore started the Calgary Institute of Counselling. Jenn, and her Psychologists have a high bar when it comes to counseling. She believes that healing can happen for all clients. That people are not born anxious or depressed. That people can get better. At the agency Jenn and her team believe that counselling is most effective with a strong clientcounsellor relationship. They all counsel from an empathic and collaborative approach with their clients. Jenn’s desire is that all clients feel emotionally safe at her agency. There is not one size fits all to counselling Jenn believes. This is why her agency offers family counselling, couples counselling, children and teen counselling. Sometimes there needs to be a different approach than just individual counselling. Assessments are also done to help understand what is really happening for the client so the proper treatment plan can be created. Assessments include ADHD for children and adults and psychoeducational assessments for children. Clients often tell Jenn how safe they feel at the agency and how her Psychologists have helped them so much in life. To book an appointment please give us a call or fill out the form on the website.

"Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom". Viktor Frankl The kernel of substance in most effective therapy is learning the art and practice of how to be effective choice makers in our own lives --- how to make good, well thought out choices and make them consistently. Therapy helps people discover how important it is to make creative, informed, effective life choices. When to zig and not to zag! One of the greatest joys in my role as a therapist is helping people realize that through learning to be a good choice maker --- they have the ability to gain a larger measure of power and control in their own lives. That through the power of choice they can gain responsibility for finding their own deeper definitions of meaning, purpose and contentment.
