My approach in therapy is collaborative, supportive, and goal oriented.
It’s easy to lose your sense of direction, especially when life pulls you away from what once felt clear or important. I work with individuals who feel stuck, uncertain, or unsure how to move forward. You might be questioning your choices, your path, or your place in the world. These experiences often come with anxiety, depression, relationship stress, or a sense of loneliness. In our work together, we’ll focus on helping you reconnect with what matters most and begin moving forward with more clarity and intention. Sessions include both reflection and practical steps, helping you better understand yourself while also creating a path forward. My approach is grounded, supportive, and collaborative. We’ll explore patterns, clarify your values, and work toward changes that feel realistic and aligned with who you are. Over time, clients often feel more confident in their decisions, more steady in themselves, and better able to navigate uncertainty. If you’re considering therapy, I offer a free consultation so we can talk through what you’re looking for and see if we’re a good fit.
Many of the people I work with are thinkers, caretakers, or high achievers: the ones who analyze everything, show up for everyone else, or keep pushing toward the next goal. Somewhere along the way, that stopped being enough. My training is existential and influenced by Jungian thinking. In practice, that means I care about what your life means to you, the choices you’re facing, and the whole of who you are, including the parts that don’t make tidy sense. Hardship reaches everyone. In my experience, the people who spend their energy dodging it often end up living at a smaller scale than they were built for. I’d like to help you build the courage to see yourself honestly, so that fear stops making your decisions. Some pain can’t be solved. It can only be faced. I work with adults who are carrying a loss or a reality that won’t change: a death, a relationship that ended, a family that split apart, an illness that redrew the future, a child they hoped for, or a life that took a different shape than the one they worked toward. Together we build the steadiness to hold that pain without letting it run everything, so there’s room for sorrow and joy in the same life. Outside of sessions, you’ll find me baking sourdough, watching sci-fi and thrillers, and holding on to the punk energy of my years in a band. I laugh at myself easily, and I’d say it’s a healthy habit. I don’t aim to make you more ordinary or fit you into a template. I bring over ten years of clinical experience, steady attention, and a firm belief that whatever surfaces in our work, however strange or hard, has meaning and deserves to be taken seriously. I’m also a certified Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga facilitator (TCTSY-F). It’s a research-supported, body-based approach for people whose trauma lives more in the body than in words, and when it fits, I can bring gentle, choice-based movement into our sessions. Therapy with me suits you if you’re curious, can tolerate complexity, and want to understand yourself. If you’re looking for a quick repair. I may not be the right fit. If you’d like company while you work out who you are, I’d be glad to meet you. I see clients online across New Jersey and New York, and in person for walk-and-talk sessions in Long Valley, NJ. When you realize you're struggling or you are at a difficult point in your life, the awareness can cultivate growth. Reaching out for assistance is not a sign of weakness, but rather a sign of your strength and motivation for change. It shows your readiness to address what is needed to move through the challenge. Stress, anxiety, past traumas, life transitions, relationship or challenges, can knock anyone off balance. Through our therapy, I help each individual understand what defined their developmental process and the relationship between the psyche and how one relates to their current environment. Individuals tend to manifest patterns in current relationships depending on the experiences they had as a child with parents, siblings or guardians. Experiences will eventually build a standard in the mind. We often then carry a standard or "object" around as an adult attaching it to every relationship or event. This is a habitual pattern that forms within us and it can affect our overall health. During therapy, we will employ various techniques, used so you develop a more harmonious position in how you view yourself and others. The goal is to see people and the world around us in a neutral manner based on rational thought, instead of attaching our past to the here and now. The focus of therapy is to show how you can improve relationships and interactions with others by removing the "object" that we naturally attach to events and people. This object shapes how one acts in relationships. When this is held in a negative manner it is detrimental to self-esteem happiness and health.
When a relationship is in crisis, or a family is fractured, you need more than just a listener—you need a clear path forward. My practice is built on objective, research-based interventions designed to bring clarity to high-stakes situations. A Scientific Approach to Couples Therapy As a Gottman-trained therapist, I don’t rely on intuition alone. We begin with a formal Gottman assessment that serves as a blueprint for your treatment plan. By using this data-driven approach, we remove the guesswork and move objectively toward your goals, often achieving results in less time. In my office, the relationship is the client. By focusing on the bond, rather than the individuals, I eliminate bias and ensure that our work remains dedicated to the health of the partnership. Specialized Family Services: Alienation and Reunification I provide expert intervention for families navigating the most difficult transitions, including: Family reunification: I specialize in working with families experiencing estrangement or alienation. My goal is to facilitate healing and restore healthy parent-child dynamics through structured, therapeutic reunification. Court-involved evaluations: I conduct comprehensive family evaluations designed for legal contexts. These assessments provide the court with an objective, clinical perspective on family functioning. Professional Disclaimer: Please note that my role is defined by the specific service requested. To maintain clinical integrity and avoid a conflict of interest, I do not simultaneously serve as a neutral evaluator and a treating therapist for the same family. Evaluations are conducted as a neutral third party for the court's consideration. All court-related services, including testimony and evaluations, are subject to specific fee schedules and retainer agreements.
My ideal clients are adults and families who are struggling with substance use, mental health challenges, or feeling overwhelmed and unsure where to turn next. I specialize in supporting individuals with substance use and co-occurring mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, and trauma. I provide assessment, clinical guidance, and care coordination to connect clients with the appropriate level of treatment and create a clear, supportive path toward stabilization and recovery. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure what to do next, you’re not alone. Reaching out can feel difficult, but it’s often the first step toward real change. I offer a supportive, nonjudgmental space to help you sort through what’s going on and figure out the right next steps, at your pace. I encourage you to reach out when you’re ready.
