As we take on the challenges of our daily lives in an ever-changing world, we are constantly met with roadblocks and obstacles that we cannot always overcome on our own. I am humbled by the opportunity to be a resource for people of all backgrounds as they find new solutions and pave new ways forward. For this reason, I have found myself called to the role of being a therapist. One of my passions in life has always been caring for today’s youth and helping grow a stronger generation to come. As a mother of two young girls, I feel it is a pivotal role to lay strong foundations of guidance and support for young minds. Likewise, I take just as much joy in exchanging ideas with my peers and with generations before me, so I can stay inspired and hungry to gain more perspective. Because of these passions, I earned my Bachelor’s in Social Work from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and I am a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) in Illinois. Through my studies, I have taken on diverse roles with young people. One of those roles included working as direct care staff in a residential treatment center for teenage girls. In addition, I taught high school students emotional confidence and financial responsibility through a psychology program at Illinois State University. I have also supported youth on parole and probation by providing mental health services, establishing attainable objectives, and creating opportunities to break cycles of generational trauma that can lead to habitual offending. I am a loving mother to two beautiful girls and two handsome kitty cats, and I enjoy rooting for the Illini and spending quality time with my large family.
