Description

Trauma Information Group is a supportive group treatment approach for survivors of interpersonal and complex trauma who are just beginning to come to terms with the impact of interpersonal trauma on their lives. It provides psychoeducation and coping skills in the context of supportive and relatable others.

Dr. Valdez clinician and researcher with expertise in working with survivors of interpersonal violence. She is passionate about helping her clients heal from, and resolve, their pain, and therefore, she is fully immersed in the art and science of what works. She's published a number of scientific research articles on trauma, traumatic stress, and recovery, and use evidence-based methods to help her clients feel better.

She relies heavily on collaborating in treatment with clients so that they regain clarity and reclaim their lives. She takes an active and compassionate approach with clients in testing existing realities and developing healthier ways of relating to the world. She strives to create a therapeutic environment where clients feel respected and understood, and thus ready and open for change.
