My Approach to Helping
I decided to further my education once I got divorced in 2010. After 10 years of putting my dreams on hold in 2011, I graduated with high distinction (Magna Cum Laude) from Florida International University with a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work. I completed my Undergraduate placement in Our Kids of Miami Dade & Monroe as the intern for the Intake Director. Further, in 2012 I graduated from the same University with a Master's degree in Social Work. I concluded my Master's Degree internship at the University of Miami Mailman Center for Child Development "Heroes Program" under the direct advanced clinical supervision of the Director of the Social Work Division. During my clinical internship, I provided clinical therapy to individuals, families and children. I also ran weekly therapeutic groups for women and children. I have a passion for learning and I continue to further my education any chance I can. I'm now a Certified Supreme Court Family Mediator & Parenting Coordinator. I'm also a Registered Clinical Social Work Intern currently under weekly supervision required to complete my clinical requisites.
I'm an active member in various organizations such as the American Nicaraguan Foundation and Femfessionals. Also, I'm an active member of the National Association of Social Workers.
