My Approach to Helping
My work centers around creating an empathic space in which we can explore who you are on a deeper level, heal wounds and dig deeper into understanding yourself through a lens of self compassion. Perhaps you experience anxiety or depression on a regular basis and want to understand the root cause of suffering so that you can begin to experience joy and ease in your life. Perhaps there are lasting effects of trauma that you wish to heal or there is an inner critic that you wish to quiet. In our work together, I often focus on helping you feel grounded so that we can explore the deeper issues that cause suffering and get back to enjoying life.
My approach is warm, relational (talk therapy) and affirming. I am also certified in EMDR (a somatic trauma therapy) which can be a highly effective method for treating trauma. I often draw upon mindfulness practices and other somatic modalities in order build additional grounding techniques. My approach is flexible because each person's needs are unique.
I have experience in issues related to depression, anxiety, self esteem, trauma, relationships, and eating disorders. I enjoy working with adults and couples. While I do not accept insurance, I can provide you with a superbill (invoice of services that you may submit to your insurance company for reimbursement).
