My Approach to Helping
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and a Registered Art Therapist, and also trained in EMDR. I have experience working with youth, adults, couples, families, and adults with severe mental illness in variety of mental health settings.
My areas of focus include depression, anxiety, impulsivity, trauma, self-esteem, couples therapy, family conflicts, grief and loss, difficult transitions, stress, and life coaching. I use an integrative approach to therapy that draws from cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical-behavioral therapy, EMDR, art therapy, mindfulness meditation, humanistic client-centered therapy and culturally competent perspective.
I believe therapeutic process is a very personal journey between the therapist and client. As a bicultural therapist, I understand the importance of multicultural counseling in therapy and I help with cross-cultural transition. My goal is to provide a safe place to help my clients live authentically and reach their full potential by strengthen coping skills, learn ways to better regulate your emotions, form healthier relationships, and gain greater insight and self-awareness, with an approach of unconditional positive regard.
