Yanela G. Stephenson, MSW, LCSW, is a licensed clinician social worker, board-certified in New Jersey. She has more than three decades of experience in mental health. She graduated fro, Rutgers University's Graduate School of Social Work with an MSW.

Yanela is a systems therapist with training in Bowen Family Therapy from the Family Training Institute of New Jersey. She received structural therapy training at Children's Hospital's Child Guidance Clinic in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She also has extensive training in hypnotherapy, strategic family therapy, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and other models of psychotherapy.

Yanela has extensive experience working with trauma survivors, children with ADD, ADHD, and selective autism, and immigration issues. Her work on immigration issues has brought her significant experience working with law enforcement. She's helped children and their families with the unification process for years, and has prepared psychosocial reports for New Jersey officials.

Ms. Stephenson is also bicultural and bilingual in Spanish and English. She specializes in integrating multi-cultural themes and issues into a client?s therapeutic plans, when applicable.
