My Approach to Helping
Even though I would define myself as a relational therapist, first and foremost, focusing on family systems and parentchild relationships; most recently I became trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to help enable people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences. I have considerable experience working with families in crisis, providing crisis intervention and supportive counseling to families using trauma-informed, post-modern modalities, behavioral, and directive and non-directive play therapy. I also have several years’ experience with psychodynamic therapy that included families, couples, and individuals, both adults and adolescents.
