We all want more peace and clarity in our lives. Major life transitions, good and bad, can rob us of both leaving us feeling overwhelmed and uncertain. Therapy can be an effective tool to help you heal and move forward. I believe building a trusting, respectful and collaborative therapeutic relationship can make it possible to do just that. I am passionate about helping other women through major life transitions such as divorce, illness, parenting and career changes. It is also a true privilege to help women adjust to aging in a society that reveres youth and devalues the wisdom we gain as we move through life.

More Info About My Practice

Currently I run two therapy groups, Turning the Page: A Therapy & Support Group for Women Struggling with Divorce and Caring for the Caregiver: A Therapy & Support Group for Women Caring for Ailing Adult Family Members. Each group runs for 12 weeks at a time. Please call me to discuss your participation.

How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist

I have been through divorce, major career changes, chronic illness, remarriage and loss of loved ones among other experiences. While I do not believe I must have the same life experiences as you for our work to be successful, I have found that the appropriate sharing of my own struggles has aided in building trust in therapeutic relationships. Additionally I have found it has greatly helped my clients to more successfully challenge the shame associated with these experiences which subsequently makes more room for healing and growth.

Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance

I believe that the therapeutic relationship is the foundation upon which all therapy work and healing builds. It is through the strength of that relationship that clients are able to feel safe enough to work through their most sensitive issues.
