Because I understand how difficult it is to seek help, I strive to provide a supportive, judgement-free zone for clients to explore their concerns. It is my belief that clients know themselves better than anyone. With this in mind, I see therapy as a collaborative effort. As your therapist, it is my job to aid you in finding and tapping into your own resources, strengths, and solutions. Above all, it is my highest goal for my clients to feel heard, validated, and supported during our time together.

More Info About My Practice

I use the tools of Cognitive Behavioral and Cognitive Processing Therapy, EMDR, Solution-focused therapy, and hypnosis to treat anxiety, depression, and trauma. I also work with clients in navigating life transitions, like career or role changes, and improving overall wellness, like weight loss, smoking cessation, and stress reduction. If you're feeling stuck and need support to reclaim your life, contact me, and we will work together to open the doors to your preferred future.

How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist

Through seeking therapy for my own struggles, I came to understand the power of quality counseling. With that, I returned to graduate school at the age of 43 to help others in the same way I had been helped. I count it as a privilege to come into my clients' lives. As a wife of 28 years, a mother of 3, a self-made business woman, and an auto-immune illness survivor, I have learned how to overcome adversity. No doubt, these issues have made me a more effective counselor and coach. More importantly, because I understand these struggles firsthand, I will approach you with empathy, compassion, and respect- meeting you exactly where you are.

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed

Many of my clients express shame over coming to therapy. It's as if that makes them weak or flawed in some way. On the contrary, asking for help is a strength. When clients come to me, I typically tell them, "I've been the one sitting on the couch- on more than one occasion." So as your therapist, I will not view your as sick or having a disorder. Instead, I recognize that we all go through difficult times, and we can all benefit from some outside, objective support during those challenges. So, if you need someone to listen, to offer support, and to join with you in finding solutions, contact me today.
