More Info About My Practice

To ensure that this is a good therapeutic match for the both of us, I offer a free, in-office consultation. My office hours are weekdays, weekday evenings and Saturdays. I offer a reduced rate for therapy for MSW students, and those going through the LCSW process. I am certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing); and am associated with the Trauma Resource Institute. Early in our work together, we will develop measurable and achievable goals. In our sessions, we will focus on moving toward these goals with positive coping skills and new perspectives.

What I Say to People Concerned about the Therapy Process

Often people avoid therapy because they do not want to re-visit painful feelings of the past; or examine how those experiences affect them today. I don't blame them! But, with appropriate coping skills and resources that we can develop together; those memories can be explored and healed.

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed

Going to therapy is a brave and healthy decision. It is important to acknowledge that everyone has struggled at some point in their life. We cope in the best way we know how in the moment. Our life experiences are so vast and different; but there are core emotions that everyone has. It is important to normalize those feelings, put them into context, and start to move forward emotionally. One way that can be accomplished is by doing any amount of homework that the client can manage. That way, the work continues between sessions; and helps encourage small changes as we work toward larger goals.
