My Approach to Helping
I am a licensed Creative Arts Therapist and a trauma-informed, EMDR trained psychotherapist and I specialize in treating anxiety, depression and stress. I practice through client-centered, psychodynamic and somatic approaches, and beyond traditional talk therapy, I utilize creative arts, EMDR, mindfulness practice, and inner childparts work as avenues for self-expression and self-exploration. Research studies have supported the effectiveness of EMDR and somatic work in treating trauma, phobia, stress, anxiety, and depression. The process of music and art-making can offer a deeper experience of self-connection and understanding. It also fosters flow and creativity, which can further enhance resiliency and quality of life. I will also give you tools to strengthen your emotional muscles so you can feel more in control in your life.
