I am passionate about working with children and parents to create strong resilient families. If you are concerned about your child's behavior or mood I can help. If you are struggling with the complex demands of parenting a growing child or teen I can give you the support you need to succeed. I have a special interest in supporting children with complex diagnoses; however, a diagnosis is not necessary to work with me.

Growing up is a challenge for both parents and children. I will work with you and your child to address your concerns in a way that supports your relationship and equips you to handle future challenges together.

My interventions emphasize skill building for both parents and children, teaching emotional awareness and regulation through hands-on activities, and social skill development that translates into success in the real world. I try to involve parents as much as possible and expect that skills taught in the therapy session will be practiced at home.

More Info About My Practice

I am able to address most mood and behaviour concerns for children and adolescents. I have a special interest in supporting children with complex diagnoses. I am familiar with navigating Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD) contracts. My focus is on identifying and encouraging the inherent strengths that the child or adolescent is already demonstrating in her/his daily life. Those strengths provide a basis for lasting behavior change that is beneficial to the family as a whole.

Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance

I believe that developing an authentic relationship with my clients is instrumental in facilitating change. By getting to know the real you I can determine how best to help. Building a relationship with young children usually means including parents in the therapy session. Creating a connection with older children and adolescents sometimes means parents are not included in therapy. Whether family members are present or absent I encourage open communication between family members about the topics covered in therapy.
