My Approach to Helping
I believe in providing a non-judgmental, person-centered approach to assist with decreasing dysfunctional behaviors at home, in the community, and in school. I believe in meeting a client where they are and assisting them in finding better ways to cope with the situations that are causing disruptions in their daily life.
I work well with adolescents in that I listen to them and help them gain insight into how their behaviors play a major role in their future. I use the cognitive behavioral therapy approach as I believe thoughts are directly tied to behaviors.
Once we are able to identify irrational thoughts, we can start to learn more positive functional behaviors to respond to uncomfortable situations.
