My Approach to Helping

Accepting new clients. You are stronger than you know, and I seek to help you reconnect with your strength at this time of need. Life definitely happens on its own terms, and the process of forgiveness and acceptance can seem overwhelming. How we face and embrace challenges can be the difference between suffering and rising above. I believe that learning new ways of doing and new ways of thinking can help us live differently, for the better. My passion for counseling is grounded in seeing the miracle of change that we didn't once realize we were capable of. I truly believe everyone deserves the opportunity to connect to their greatest happiness and satisfaction in their precious life, and if the work we do together to achieve your goals can help bring new joy to your life, I feel my purpose as a therapist is fulfilled. Please let me know how I can help. I look forward to working together.

More Info About My Practice

If I don't accept your insurance, then please know I will work with you on a sliding scale so that my quality services are still available to you. My office is located on the ground floor and has wheelchair accessibility. My office is a safe space where all diverse persons are welcome. I offer non-traditional session times for convenience around your work and family schedule.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I am skilled with helping family members of addicts cope with the emotional pain that keeps they, themselves, from living fully. I also am skilled at working with recovery from addiction, performance anxiety, and am a lifelong LGBTQQI straight ally that is happy to support you as you navigate the challenges you face daily. For those of you for whom English may be your second language, I'm uniquely skilled at understanding your English well. I am skilled at issues that arise from a culture of large family living, and pregnancy and post-natal support.

Had a Negative Therapy Experience?

If you've had a negative therapy experience, I can relate, and I remember learning how big a deal it is to connect with my therapist in a real way after that. Your ability to connect in a genuine way is of tantamount priority for me. This is why I won't charge you for your first session. You deserve the chance to see if I will be the right person for you to work with, so you may have the best possible experience. Please let me encourage you to consider giving therapy another chance.
