My Approach to Helping
As a counselor, I accept each person where they are and assist each in achieving their self-directed goals. Each person’s therapy is specialized. I find Reality Theory with Choice Therapy very beneficial. Also, Solution Focused Therapy and CognitiveBehavioral Therapy may be valuable.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, LPC, in the state of Texas. I have over five years of clinical experience with individuals and group sessions. My areas of specialization include anxiety, depression, self-image, and family dynamics. My experience includes domestic violence residence, Intensive Outpatient treatment (IOP), and grief processing.
I have a Master of Science in Counseling from Texas A & M University-Commerce and a Bachelor of Science in Education with a major in art education and a minor in chemistry from Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, MO.
I have lived in the state of Texas for almost forty years. I came here for warmer winters and most of the time that is true! I enjoy growing plants indoors and outdoors. I have an appreciation of art and science and that interest shaped my undergraduate work. I experience individuals accepting me and talking to me and that is the force that directed my career as a counselor. In choosing to work with me, I will respect you as the individual you are.
