My Approach to Helping
When life presents challenges that are too difficult to overcome on your own, I offer a safe, non-judgmental space to explore and express your emotions. Working together, you and I will reveal your existing strengths and develop them into viable coping skills to overcome these challenges. I have personal experience, as a parent and a daughter, in dealing with the challenges of physical and mental disabilities. I have lived and worked in various regions of the United States and abroad thus I understand the feelings of isolation and uncertainty that can surface when in a new environment, situation, or even in everyday circumstances.
I offer a Positive Psychology Strength-based perspective and I am trained in a variety of evidence-based counseling approaches such as Relational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, ACT, and Solution-Focused Therapy. Although I am trained in a variety of techniques, I tailor the therapeutic experience to the client.
